Missing teen Christopher James Owens found dead

Prince William police are looking into the death of a teenager who was reported missing.

Christopher James Owens, 15, was reported missing on Saturday from his home in the 10100 block of Banchory Circle in Bristow.

“Christopher is believed to have left his residence voluntarily and may be in need of assistance which qualifies him as being endangered,” a police report stated.

The report also noted that the teenager could be riding an ATV.

Police released this follow-up statement about 4 p.m.:

*UPDATE: Christopher James Owens, the reported missing endangered juvenile from this morning, has been located deceased. The investigation into his death is ongoing. More information will be provided when available

A Facebook page launched in an effort to help find Owens had this posted to it this afternoon:

“I would like to thank everyone for the enormous support you have all shown, we are so grateful for everyone that joined together in the effort to find Christopher. At this time, we can say that we have found him, and he is no longer with us. The family asks for you all to respect their privacy at this time. Once again, thank you all for your support.”
