The Workhouse Arts Center announces BrewWorks, an outdoor beer, wine, and spirit tastings festival, on May 20.
In addition to sampling microbrews, wine, and spirits, participants can enjoy food and lawn games while listening to local bands throughout the day.
A variety of food trucks will be on campus for the duration of the event. During the festival, the art galleries, artist studios, gift shops, and Lucy Burns Museum will be open.
This year’s event will showcase approximately 15 local breweries, three wineries, and two-spirit distilleries. While the details are still being finalized, the anticipated participating vendors include:

- Ono Brewing Company
- Settle Down Easy Brewing Co.
- Väsen Brewing Company
- Fair Winds Brewing Company
- Mustang Sally Brewing Company
- Buskey Cider
General Admission tickets are $40; Premium Admission tickets $75. Designated Driver and Child Admission tickets are available.
The Workhouse Arts Center sits at 9518 Workhouse Way in Lorton.

Officials are encouraging people to attend and share their opinion on several development ideas. The event takes place on February 15, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the McGuireWoods Gallery at the Workhouse Arts Center, 9518 Workhouse Way, Lorton.

A coffeehouse or a restaurant at the Workhouse Arts Center?
The artisan destination in Lorton says construction work to add these amenities has begun with two campus buildings, W13 and W15. Once completed, the Fairfax County Government will lease these buildings to commercial entities. Workhouse officials also say a brewery could be located in one of the new buildings.

The Workhouse Arts Center is thrilled to announce the return of a Northern Virginia Halloween season favorite, the Workhouse Haunt, an immersive outdoor haunted trail.
This year's haunt, "Nightmare Harvest," will run on weekends from Saturday, October 1, through Saturday, November 5, 2022. Friday and Saturday hours are from 7 to 11 p.m., and Sunday hours are from 7 to 10 p.m.

Hornsby is best known for his 1986 smash "The Way It Is," which hit number one on the Billboard charts, and "Mandolin Rain," which reached the top five.

A change in a fireworks show prompted by last weekend's stormy weather forecast has brought some additional last-minute changes at the Workhouse Arts Center.
Blues musician Bobby BlackHat and his band will replace Mark G. Meadows, a Stevie Wonder tribute band, who had been scheduled to perform during the show slated for Saturday, July 2. The fireworks show is rescheduled for Sunday, July 10. Meadows was unable to make the rain-date performance.
Tickets to the event start at $20 per car. Those who walk to the event, or take a taxi may attend free.

The Workhouse Arts Center has announced that its annual fireworks celebration is returning on July 2, 2022.
This year's event will include a special performance by the renowned musical performer Mark G. Meadows who will celebrate the music of Stevie Wonder in a musical performance entitled A Night of Wonder. The concert will occur before the fireworks display and will present classic Stevie Wonder songs like "Sir Duke," "For Once in my Life," "Superstition," and more.

The Workhouse Arts Foundation, Inc. is holding a special opening reception for its Kissed by a Muse exhibit.
The exhibit will feature artwork by Virginia-based painter John Hartt and mixed-media artist Cheryl Neway which celebrates the main themes and draws inspiration from Xanadu (based on the Universal film, music and lyrics by Jeff Lynne and John Farrar). The works will include contemporary costuming, fanciful paintings of enigmatic characters, and bright discothèque colors.
