Stafford County has installed temporary fencing at the Stafford Courthouse for routine maintenance, including painting and window repairs, as part of responsible stewardship of the historic structure. The courthouse, designated as a Historic Resource Overlay District, is subject to protective zoning regulations, and any major exterior changes require approval from the Stafford County Architectural Review Board. ASSAULT:
Rappahannock Regional Jail, 1745 Richmond Highway, 4:14 p.m. Deputy S. Waheed was assisting in processing a suspect at the jail for a domestic incident. The suspect, unhappy about the situation he created, made things worse when he kicked off one of his crocs and it struck a jail officer. He was charged with assault and battery of a jail officer and was held without bond.
On November 11, 2024, a suspect was arrested in connection with a shooting incident on August 4, 2023, in Woodbridge, where the suspect fired multiple rounds at a vehicle. The suspect was charged with shooting into an unoccupied vehicle and reckless handling of a firearm, and is being held pending a court date.

Shooting into an Unoccupied Vehicle | Reckless Handling of a Firearm [Previously Released] – On August 4 at 10:40PM, officers responded to the 13900 block of Rope Dr. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shots fired call. The investigation revealed the victim, a 50-year-old man, was working on a vehicle parked in the above area, when he was approached by an unknown man. During the encounter, the suspect brandished a firearm and fired multiple rounds towards the victim. The victim was able to flee the area on foot and was not injured. While investigating the incident, officers determined the man was possibly with a group of other men who were near a brown-colored vehicle prior to the encounter. While checking the area, officers located two vehicles that sustained damage [consistent] with being struck by projectiles, and shell casings in the roadway. No injuries or additional property damage were reported.
ASSAULT:
Amazon, 220 Centreport Parkway, 11/13, 5:30 p.m. Deputy R.L. Hubbard responded to an assault. It was discovered there was a road rage incident between a Chevy and Nissan traveling on Centreport Parkway. The road rage escalated into an auto accident when the occupants of the Chevy involved assaulted the Nissan driver. Both occupants were charged with assault and battery, assault by mob, and disorderly conduct. Both were released by the magistrate on personal recognizance.
Spotsylvania Towne Centre is introducing Success Space, a 5,300 square foot coworking and business facility offering offices, meeting rooms, and support services for temporary use. The space, located next to Sephora, will hold a Groundbreaking and Grand Opening on November 18, 2024.
Fleetwood Drive (Route 611) between Parkgate Drive (Route 653) and Aden Road (Route 646) will be closed to through traffic Monday, Nov. 18; Tuesday, Nov. 19; Wednesday, Nov. 20 and Thursday, Nov. 21 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day for drainage pipe replacement, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
