Prince William police: “Felony Hit & Run Crash Investigation – On July 26 at 10:45 p.m, crash investigators responded to Jiffy Lube Live located at 7800 Cellar Door Dr in Bristow (20136) to investigate a hit & run crash that occurred in the parking lot.”
“The investigation revealed the victim, a 23-year-old woman, was leaving the concert and running through parking lot “F6” to her vehicle when she was struck by a white sedan. The victim was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.”
“The striking vehicle left the scene and was not located. No other information is currently known about the striking vehicle or its driver. Crash investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact police.”
Prince William County: “Recently, U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg announced a historic $800 million in grant awards for 510 projects through the new Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Grant Program, a record amount of funding to improve roads and address traffic fatalities. Prince William County Department of Transportation received $992,000 to be used by the Prince William County Government to develop a comprehensive safety action plan.”
“The competitive grant program, established by President Biden’s historic infrastructure law, provides $5 billion over five years for regional, local, and Tribal initiatives — from redesigned roads to better sidewalks and crosswalks — to prevent deaths and serious injuries on the nation’s roadways.”
“The Prince William County Comprehensive Safety Action Plan grant application was submitted by Prince William County Government in coordination with the City of Manassas and the Towns of Occoquan, Haymarket and Dumfries. The action plan will build off previous successful planning and public engagement efforts, including key stakeholders like the County’s Racial and Social Justice and Sustainability Commissions, and create opportunities for meaningful community engagement to ensure policies and strategies improve safety equitably.”

Stafford County Sheriff’s Office: “A 23-year-old Fredericksburg man was arrested Sunday morning when he introduced his vehicle to a traffic light pole after consuming three bottles of alcohol.”
“On July 23rd at approximately 1:35 a.m. Deputy E.T. Osborn responded to the intersection of Garrisonville Road and Mine Road for a report of a possible drunk driver. The reporting party advised she was behind a vehicle that sat through a green light approximately five times.”
“When her patience ran out, she pulled up next to the vehicle to discover the driver was passed out. When Deputy Osborn arrived on scene, the vehicle was still unmoved; however, that quickly changed.”
“Before Deputy Osborn could exit his vehicle, the suspect vehicle proceeded through the red traffic signal. Deputy Osborn followed the vehicle as it continued to the intersection of Doc Stone Road. Instead of turning while in the right turn lane, the suspect vehicle continued straight and directly into the traffic light pole. The driver was not injured from the crash.”
“The driver had the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath and glassy, bloodshot eyes. The driver admitted to consuming three bottles while driving, as well as, the empty bottles were located within the vehicle.”
“The driver was charged with driving under the influence, drinking while driving, and reckless driving. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.”

VDOT/Transubran: “The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and Transurban North America will partially open a 10-mile extension of the 95 Express Lanes in August to reduce congestion on the Interstate 95 corridor through Stafford County and Fredericksburg, connecting the region to Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C.”
“The extension will continue the 95 Express Lanes from the current terminus just south of Route 610 (Garrisonville Road) to near Route 17 (Warrenton Road) in Stafford County. In August, northbound I-95 through travelers approaching from the Rappahannock River area will be able to enter Express Lanes using a left ramp entrance near the Route 17 interchange.”
“Southbound Express Lanes travelers will be able to drive an additional 10 miles south in the new facility to the Route 17 area. Exiting travelers can enter local I-95 southbound travel lanes near the Rappahannock River to access the Route 17 or Route 3 interchanges or continue in the I-95 southbound through travel lanes.”
“Two reversible Express Lanes will carry traffic northbound or southbound in the I-95 median according to the 95 Express Lanes operational schedule. On Saturdays, OmniRide will expand its local bus and transit services in western Prince William County.
The OmniRide Commission voted unanimously on Thursday, July 13, 2023, to expand local services to the area for the first time. Those services include OmniRide local bus routes 65N and 67, which travel between Manassas Mall and the Northern Virginia Community College Manassas Campus.

Fatal Crash Investigation [Previously Released] – On July 14 at 7:16AM, officers responded to the intersection of Somerset Crossing Dr. and Forkland Way in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a crashing involving a pedestrian. The investigation revealed the driver of a 2011 Honda Odyssey was traveling east on Somerset Crossing Way approaching the intersection with Forkland Way when the vehicle struck a pedestrian who was in the crosswalk. Fire and rescue personnel responded to the scene where the pedestrian was pronounced deceased. The driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene. Speed, alcohol, or drug use were not factors in the collision with the driver of the vehicle. The investigation continues.
