A new restaurant is coming to the Manassas area. Freddyâs, a well-known burger and custard joint, aims to open in June 2024. The newest franchise will be built at 8074 Ashton Avenue, at the corner of Sudley Manor Drive.
âManassas is a vibrant, diverse, and growing area thatâs a perfect fit for our brand. Our local community is so important to usâas weâve gotten to know our neighbors and businesses in the area, weâve been supporting community clean-up days with a Frozen Custard Social,â explained Manassas franchise owner Beverly Redler.
Their menu includes something for everyoneâchicken sandwiches, all-beef hotdogs, cheese curds, shakes, sundaes, and more. Browse through the whole menu here and look for limited-time items throughout the year.
Inside the restaurant, the history of Freddyâs can be found on the walls. Photos of the late co-founder, Freddy Simon, display his years throughout his adolescence, up until serving in World War II, and beyond.
With cooked-to-order ingredients, Freddyâs likes to ensure a family-friendly environment. Interested in joining the team? Applicants can check here for upcoming positions at the Manassas location.
âWe canât wait to start serving guests in Manassas and look forward to becoming an active supporter of the local schools, sports teams, and organizations that make our community thrive,â added Redler.
Other nearby locations include two in the Fredericksburg area: 28 South Gateway Drive, Fredericksburg in Stafford County, and 1611 Emancipation Highway in Fredericksburg.
With its fusion of funk, blues, salsa, and soul, Go-Go music holds a special place in Washington, D.C., and surrounding communities. In fact, in 2020, the musical genre was designated as the D.Câs official music. Now, diners in Northern Virginia can pay homage to the Go-Go culture while enjoying burgers and milkshakes in a new restaurant that could make Chuck Brown and the Soul Searchers proud.
Burgers@ Manassas held a âsoftâ opening on February 10 at the Manassas Mall, which offers a wide range of hamburgers, tenders and wings, beverages, and locally baked desserts. As the second âBurgers@â location in the Washington, D.C. area (the other location is in Camp Springs, Md.), the Burgers@ Manassas restaurant brings the familiar musical culture to Prince William County.
âWeâve been getting a lot of great feedback from our customers, who are excited for âBurgers@â to be in Manassas, mainly because nothing like this exists in Prince William County,â said Dennis Green, founder and CEO of the Burgers@ restaurant brand. â…Our Manassas customers and neighbors are all excited to see the Go-Go music culture highlighted in this area, and weâre honored to be able to do this through our restaurant.â
Beyond its extensive menu of sandwiches and burgers, Burgers@ Manassas boasts an impressive 54-foot mural three times larger than the mural at the Maryland location. Green said the mural is a âfocal pointâ that honors local prominent figures who have contributed to the âoverall culture in one way or another.â
âBeing a native Washingtonian, Iâve always embraced the artistry of Go-Go music since I was a young kid and it is the inspiration behind everything that I do,â Green said. â…It was a no-brainer to incorporate the Go-Go music culture into the brand’s story. Not just with the interior design, but the menu items, as well as the entertainment that we offer.â
Among its best sellers are âThe Apolloâ burger, which costs $12, the âSoufeast Seafood Burger,â at about $17, the âJive Turkeyâ burger at $12, and âThe Bay Filet,â at $12.25. Customers can complement their burgers by choosing from over 25 toppings and sauces, and the burgers are made with fresh Angus beef, whiting fish, chicken, or even shrimp.
Green said that while the restaurant undergoes a âsoft” opening phase, its grand opening should occur in the next 60 days. The restaurant is open every day, noon until 6 p.m., and is located inside the Manassas Mall at 8300 Sudley Road in Manassas.

Embrey Mill Town Center is about to get a spicy kick with the grand opening of Crimson Coward, a restaurant specializing in Nashville-inspired Hot Chicken sandwiches. I recently took my family to try the menu and interviewed Nabil Asad, the owner of the Crimson Coward franchise, to delve into the details of this new culinary venture.
Asad, with a rich history in the restaurant business, mentioned that while Crimson Coward is different from the Subway venture he opened in Aquia Town Center 30 years ago, the operation shares some similarities. He emphasized the commitment to freshness, with no on-site freezers, ensuring everything is made to order, just like Subway. Notably, the chicken is prepared in plain view of customers, breaking away from the conventional kitchen-behind-a-wall approach.

The Stafford County Board of Supervisors is set to review a proposal for a new Raising Cane's restaurant at The Garrison, a long-awaited mixed-use development in North Stafford. The applicant is seeking a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) to allow the construction of a drive-through facility at the planned fast-food establishment.
Approval of the CUP is a crucial step for the restaurant that sells only chicken tenders, to move forward with construction. Supervisors will discuss the case at their public meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024, inside the county government center at 1300 Courthouse Road.
The development would sit near the intersection of Garrisonville Road (Route 610) and Travis Lane, across from a Dunkin Donuts. Plans include a single-story, 3,077-square-foot building with a drive-through. Access to the site will be facilitated through a new entrance along internal shared access roads, with no direct access to Route 610. The property, spanning 1.16 acres, is part of the larger 44-acre Garrison at Stafford development.
