LAKE RIDGE, Va. – Prince William County Police say they’re investigating an unusual break-in attempt at a bank on Hedges Run Drive.

Officers were called to the M&T Bank in Lake Ridge on Wednesday morning after someone discovered a large hole had been cut into the building’s roof. Police say the attempted burglary likely happened sometime between August 10 and 14.

DALE CITY, Va. –   A man was shot in the arm while walking to his car Wednesday night in the parking lot of Dale Forest Apartments, police say.

The folks at Prince William County Police just told Potomac Local News that the shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. on Whitmer Drive. A 51-year-old man was approached by someone who pulled a gun and shot him during the brief encounter. The suspect then ran off.

School workers also reported a similar incident involving the same suspect on July 30, though it was not reported at the time. The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his mid-20s, about 5’7” with a thin build and medium-length shaggy black hair. He was last seen wearing dark clothing, including a hooded sweatshirt and sweatpants.

Police said two men stole shoes from the New Balance store at Potomac Mills after a struggle with employees on Monday afternoon.

Police said the suspects were spotted concealing merchandise just after noon on August 11. When confronted, they fought with staff and ran from the mall with a pair of shoes. No one was hurt. The suspects are described as Black men — one wearing a gray sweatshirt and dark shorts, the other in a blue-and-white tank top and gray shorts. A police K-9 search did not locate them.

Update 11:30 a.m. August 12, 2025 – A 28-year-old man from Bealeton died Monday after his motorcycle collided head-on with a Jeep in Nokesville.

Police said the crash happened around 5:15 p.m. at Aden Road and Parkgate Drive. Investigators believe the driver of a Mazda minivan turned left in front of the motorcyclist, forcing him across the center line and into the path of an oncoming Jeep Wrangler. The impact sent both vehicles off the road.

In a separate shooting incident on Danbury Court Aug. 9, two men from Richmond — Deshawn Antione Baker, 20, and Deonte Antoine Carrington, 19 — were arrested after exchanging gunfire during an argument. An unoccupied vehicle was struck, but no injuries were reported.

Also in Woodbridge, an aggravated assault Aug. 7 on Nickelson Drive left a 46-year-old man with multiple wounds. He later arrived at a local hospital. Police are still investigating how the injuries occurred.

Police are investigating a shooting in the 1300 block of Bayside Avenue in Woodbridge, just behind Marumsco Plaza. Officers found an adult man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Residents should expect a continued police presence in the area while detectives work the case. No suspect information has been released.

A man died early Tuesday morning after crashing his motorcycle in Dale City. Police say 56-year-old Gary Virgil Teman was riding a 2016 Harley-Davidson Dyna Wide Glide east on Dale Boulevard just after 1:40 a.m. when he failed to make a curve near Greenwood Drive and veered off the road, striking a parked vehicle.

Teman was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators later determined he did not have a motorcycle endorsement. Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact them.

A 38-year-old woman has died after being struck by a car in Manassas in mid-July. Carolina Isabel Rosales Cepeda was walking in the roadway along Centreville Road near Orchard Bridge Drive when she was hit by a southbound 2022 Honda Civic around 2:09 a.m. on July 13. She was hospitalized in critical condition and succumbed to her injuries on July 31. The driver, a 24-year-old woman from Woodbridge, remained at the scene and was not injured. Police are asking witnesses to come forward.

In Woodbridge, police are investigating the Death of a 26-year-old man found unresponsive in a bush near Cheshire Station Plaza on July 31. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No signs of foul play were found, and the Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.

Updated 10:40 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2025 – A man is in custody after allegedly shooting two family members—killing one and critically injuring the other—during an argument inside a Woodbridge home Wednesday evening.

Prince William police say 56-year-old Khampheng Toune Quanlangsy shot a 42-year-old man and a 70-year-old woman in the upper body following a verbal altercation. Officers responded around 5:42 p.m. to the 12900 block of Kenmar Drive, where they found Quanlangsy outside the home and took him into custody without incident.
