On June 12, detectives charged Tavaris Maleek Eberhardt with murder in connection to the fatal shooting of Carlos Marcell Moore on May 23 near Manassas. Eberhardt, already incarcerated on an unrelated charge, allegedly shot Moore after a verbal altercation and attempted to remove evidence from the scene; firearms were found in a storage unit rented by Eberhardt, though they were not used in the shooting.

Murder Investigation *ARREST | VICTIM IDENTIFIED – On June 12, detectives charged the suspect involved in the fatal shooting that was reported to have occurred in the 12000 block of Cadet Ct. in Manassas (20109) on May 23. While investigating the incident, detectives determined a verbal altercation occurred between the 30-year-old victim and the other man located near the vehicle, later identified as the accused, on the evening of May 22. Not long after, during the early morning hours of May 23, the accused fired multiple rounds into the vehicle which struck and killed the victim. The accused then removed evidence from the scene prior to police arriving in the parking lot. While investigating the incident, detectives executed a search warrant on a storage unit being rented by the accused and located two firearms, neither of which appear to have been used during the shooting. Following the investigation, detectives linked the accused to the murder and obtained arrest warrants. The accused, identified as Tavaris Maleek EBERHARDT, was served on charges related to the homicide investigation at the Adult Detention Center where he was incarcerated on his previous charge from an unrelated matter.

Melara

On June 5, Eric Yovany Melara, the final suspect in a February 12 assault in Haymarket, was arrested, joining two others previously apprehended. The altercation at a Sudley Road residence escalated, resulting in a 31-year-old woman being physically assaulted and a 25-year-old man threatened with a knife and firearm.

Assault by Mob | Brandishing of a Firearm *ADDITIONAL ARREST [Previously Released] – On March 9, the suspect, identified as Jasmine Denisha GARCIA, who was sought in connection to the assault that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 4300 block of Sudley Rd. in Haymarket (20169) on February 12, was arrested. Another suspect was previously arrested in connection to the incident on February 13. The investigation remains active as officers attempt to locate the third suspect, identified as Eric Yovany MELARA.

Assault by Mob | Brandishing of a Firearm [Previously Released] – On February 12 at 12:45AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 4300 block of Sudley Rd. in Haymarket (20169) to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed a group was involved in an altercation at the residence that escalated. During the encounter one of the victims, a 31-year-old woman, was physically assaulted while a second victim, a 25-year-old man, had a knife held to his neck. A short time later, another individual brandished a firearm and held it to the male victim’s head. Eventually, parties separated, and the victims left the residence to a neighbor’s home where police were contacted. Minor injuries were reported.

In other crime news, on June 5, officers responded to two separate incidents involving intoxicated individuals who assaulted law enforcement officers.

The first incident occurred at 7:21 p.m. at Potomac Mills in Woodbridge, where officers arrested Ana Rivera Sotelo, 20, after she resisted and assaulted officers. She was charged with three counts of assault and battery on a law enforcement officer and one count of being intoxicated in public and was held without bond. The second incident happened at 9:04 p.m. in the 3800 block of Fettler Park Dr. in Dumfries, where Connor Grey Lloyd, 29, resisted arrest and pushed an officer. He was charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, obstruction of justice, and being intoxicated in public and was held on a $1,000 unsecured bond.

Responding officers located a man, later identified as the accused, in the parking lot and determined he was intoxicated. When officers attempted to detain the accused, he actively resisted and pushed an officer before being detained without further incident. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Connor Grey LLOYD, was arrested.

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On June 5 at 7:21PM, officers responded to Potomac Mills located at 2700 Potomac Mills Cl. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a trespasser. Responding officers located a woman, later identified as the accused, who was with mall security and refusing to leave the mall. While investigating the incident, officers determined the accused was intoxicated and detained her without incident. As officers were escorting the accused to a police vehicle, she actively resisted kicking and assaulting officers. Eventually, the accused was secured and placed inside the vehicle. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Ana RIVERA SOTELO, was arrested. While
being processed at the Adult Detention Center, the accused struck an officer with her shoulder. Minor injuries were reported by one officer.

A 17-year-old male from Triangle has been arrested in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred on June 3 in Triangle, resulting in the death of a 15-year-old and injuries to three others. The incident, believed to have stemmed from an ongoing dispute, continues to be investigated by detectives.

Murder Investigation *ARREST – Detectives have identified and arrested a juvenile suspect in connection to the fatal shooting that was reported to have occurred in the 3700 block of Masthead Trl. in Triangle (22172) on the evening of June 3. During the investigation, detectives determined the accused fired towards a group of five males, including the four victims and a fifth man who was uninjured. Further investigation revealed the parties were known to one another and the incident is believed to have stemmed from a previous altercation and ongoing dispute between the parties. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as a 17-year-old male juvenile, was arrested. The investigation continues as detectives seek to identify any other parties possibly involved in the fatal shooting.

Cerroblanco

On June 2, officers responded to a peeping incident at Maplewood Park Apartments near Manassas, where a teen observed Alfredo Cerroblanco, 57, peering through her bedroom window, police said. The victim alerted a family member who prevented Cerroblanco from fleeing until police arrived and arrested him for peeping into a residential dwelling.

Peeping Investigation – On June 2 at 9:50PM, officers responded to the Maplewood Park Apartments located in the 8100 block of Peakwood Ct. in Manassas (20111) to investigate a peeping incident. The investigation revealed the victim, a female juvenile, observed an unknown man, later identified as the accused, peering through a bedroom window while she was inside the room. The victim immediately notified a family member who prevented the accused from leaving the area until police arrived and detained the accused without incident. No entry was made into the residence. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Alfredo CERROBLANCO, was arrested.

Prince Willian County Police Department: It is time for the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics, and the Police Department would love to have the public cheer on the runners.

The Torch that symbolizes the beginning of the Special Olympics Games in Richmond, is lit in Arlington and is carried by police officers and Special Olympians to Richmond on June 7, 2024.

This year, runners and supporters will gather at the Charlie T. Deane Central District Station, 5036 Davis Ford Road, Woodbridge on Wednesday, June 5, 2024. The runners will be transported at 9 a.m. from the Police Association Hall, 14288 Independent Hill Drive, Manassas to the Central District Station.

Runners will begin here and follow the route from Davis Ford Road to Hoadly Road, then to Dumfries Road (Route 234) to Independent Hill Drive and down the driveway to the Police Association Hall.

Any Special Athletes who choose to run will start at the driveway and run to the Association Hall building to complete the race. The route is 6 miles.

A suspicious package was found at Manassas Mall, 8300 Sudley Road, near Manassas. The Prince William police reported the incident at 7:20 p.m. on June 1, 2024. Authorities advised people to avoid the area.

After an investigation, nothing was found, and there were no injuries. This incident follows a recent investigation into a bomb threat at Manassas Mall on May 22. Detectives identified the culprit as a 12-year-old girl and determined the threat was not credible. The case will be handled through the juvenile diversion process in consultation with Juvenile Court Services.

A Lorton man faces charges after police said he was found in a parked car with a 16-year-old girl boy at Fairmont Park, a small community park with four ballfields and a parking lot, near Manassas.

Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor – On May 28 at 2:34AM, officers observed an occupied suspicious vehicle located at 9801 Fairmont Ave. in Manassas (20109)
trespassing in the parking lot of Fairmont Park. The investigation revealed the two occupants, a 16-year-old male juvenile, and an adult male, identified as the accused, recently met on a social media app, and agreed to meet in the above location where they were found in a state of undress. The accused was detained without incident. The juvenile was turned over to family members. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Calvin Jerrod MCILWAIN, was charged.
