The Prince William County Police enforce traffic safety all year, and the Department reminds motorists to Wear your seatbelt every time! That is the underlying message of this year’s “Click It or Ticket” seatbelt enforcement campaign, which runs from Nov. 23, 2024, through Dec. 1, 2024. Seatbelts save lives!

Prince William County Police join law enforcement agencies throughout Virginia in the “Click It or Ticket” campaign to enforce the Commonwealth’s safety-belt and child safety-seat laws. The Department will participate in high-visibility patrols – day and night – through Sunday, December 1.

On October 31, officers responded to a robbery investigation near Manassas involving a victim who arranged to sell his vehicle through Facebook Marketplace. The suspect brandished a firearm, demanded the victim’s phone, and drove off with the vehicle, but later returned it before fleeing on foot; all property was recovered. Press Release from Prince William County Police:
Carjacking – On October 31 at 8:16PM, officers responded to the 12800 block of Galveston Ct [near] Manassas (20112) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed the victim, a 44-year-old man, arranged to sell his vehicle to unknown party over Facebook Marketplace. The victim met with the other man in the above area to test drive the vehicle. While both men were in the vehicle, the suspect brandished a firearm and demanded the victim’s phone before telling the victim to exit the vehicle. The suspect then drove off in the victim’s vehicle. No injuries were reported. The victim went to a nearby business to contact police. Before officers arrived on scene, the suspect returned the vehicle and left on foot. All property was recovered. A police K-9 searched the area for the suspect who was not located.

Prince William County broke ground on the new Fire and Rescue Station 27 on Oct. 17. [Photo courtesy of Prince William County]
On Oct. 17, Prince William County broke ground on the new Fire and Rescue Department's Station 27 near the Dumfries and Spriggs Roads intersection. This station will be the county's 23rd.

Potomac District Supervisor Andrea Bailey, the district in which the station will reside, said this is of the utmost importance to the community.

"With Station 27, we're bringing faster emergency response times, state-of-the-art equipment and a dedicated team of firefighters and first responders," Bailey said. "... It's an investment in our future and a testament to the hard work of everyone involved in making this vision a reality."
