Prince William County police are investigating a murder-for-hire case following the February 2 shooting death of 23-year-old Egypt Zapporah Carter, who was found fatally shot inside her car near Bronson Ct. and Brickwood Dr. in Dale City. Police have arrested Drew Courtney Buchanan, 27, on charges of second-degree murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and firearm use in the commission of a felony. Buchanan was arrested on October 15 in Manassas and is being held without bond.
An arrest warrant has been issued for a second suspect, Denzel Scott Wade, 30, who was allegedly present at the shooting scene. Police are actively searching for Wade and urge anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact them.

Murder Investigation *ARREST | SUSPECT WANTED – During the ongoing investigation into the murder of a 23-year-old woman killed in a shooting that occurred in the area of Bronson Ct. and Brickwood Dr. in Woodbridge (22193) on February 2, detectives have arrested one man and obtained an arrest warrant for another man involved in the encounter. The victim was found fatally shot while inside her vehicle when officers arrived on the scene around 2:07AM. The investigation revealed a murder-for-hire was arranged to kill the victim. Detectives further learned the suspect currently in custody, identified as Drew Courtney BUCHANAN, carried out the act in murdering the victim. On October 15, BUCHANAN, was located in the Manassas area and arrested without incident. An additional suspect, identified as Denzel Scott WADE, was determined to have been present with BUCHANAN at the time of shooting and is currently being sought by police on an active arrest warrant. Additional charges against other involved parties are pending in this investigation. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the wanted suspect or who can otherwise aid in the investigation is asked to contact the police. More information will be released when available. Homicide Investigation – On October 27 at 10:34AM, officers responded to a residence located at the 18500 block of Triangle Street in Triangle (22172) for a report of an injured adult male found inside a vehicle. The investigation revealed the victim was found by an acquaintance with life-threatening injuries and later pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s injuries were determined to be suspicious in nature and not self-inflicted. Detectives are actively investigating the incident and are seeking to speak with anyone who has information to aid in the investigation. Preliminarily, this incident does not appear to be random. The identity of the deceased, a 43 year old male, will be released pending notifications of a next-of-kin. More information will be released as it becomes available. The investigation continues.

ASSAULT:
Chesterfield Lane, 10/24, 12:30 a.m. Deputy S.A. Edwards responded to an assault. The victim advised his roommate, who appeared under the influence of something, assaulted him as he laid in bed. Deputy Edwards made contact with the suspect who had signs of intoxication and during a search incident to arrest, suspected controlled substances were located on his person. He was charged with assault and battery, as well as, possession of controlled substances. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $3,000 secured bond.
DUI:
Area of Coal Landing Road and Greenridge Drive, 10/24, 6:22 p.m. Sergeant E.E. West and Deputy S.C. Martin responded to a single vehicle auto accident. A vehicle crashed into a ditch. The reporting party advised prior to crashing, the suspect driver was speeding, swerving, and nearly crashed into them head on. Deputies made contact with the driver who had signs of intoxication. It was also discovered she was consuming alcohol while behind the wheel. The driver was charged with driving under the influence, drinking while driving, reckless driving, refusal, and obstruction of justice. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
FRAUD:
Rock Raymond Drive, 10/24, 5:52 p.m. Deputy D.A. Robertson responded to a fraud. The victim advised she received a call from someone posing as a Sergeant of the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office. The scheming Sergeant advised the victim missed jury duty and needed to pay a bail bond company to avoid being arrested. After paying the first payment, the beguiling bondsman requested additional money. Westie Way, 10/24, 7:24 p.m. Deputy C.M. Sterne responded to a fraud. Instead of posing as a local law enforcement agency, this scammer decided to pose as a federal law enforcement agency. The scammer explained to the victim that someone was using her information to launder money. The only way to resolve the issue would be to convert money into Bitcoin and allow him to have access to it.
LARCENY:
Home Depot, 305 Worth Avenue, 10/24, 7:14 p.m. Deputy J.A. Martin responded to a larceny. Staff advised a male suspect stole nearly $200 worth of items.
VANDALISM:
Blue Beacon Truck Wash, 50 South Gateway Drive, 10/24, 5:16 p.m. Deputy W.A. Bolinsky responded to a vandalism. The victim advised the driver of a Mercedes was displeased with being behind a semi-truck. In response, the Mercedes driver slashed the victim’s tires. The suspect was described as a black male with short hair in his 30’s wearing a neon green top. Area of Richmond Highway and Corporate Drive, 10/24, 10:48 p.m. Deputy J.J. Suh responded to a vandalism. The victim advised while traveling in the area, the driver of a black Kia Soul threw a container of ice at his vehicle.
On Wednesday, October 23, a note containing a threat of bodily harm was found at North Stafford High School, located at 839 Garrisonville Road. The note was initially discovered by a student and circulated among other students before eventually being passed to an adult, who alerted authorities.
Deputy A.N. Taormina, the school resource officer, was informed of the situation at approximately 1:15 p.m. The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, school administration, and school security quickly began investigating the potential threat.
Detectives obtained charges on October 17, 2024, related to a sexual assault reported in 2023 involving a victim and her acquaintance. The accused is wanted for rape and abduction, and efforts to locate him have not been successful.

Rape Investigation – On October 17, 2024, detectives obtained charges in an ongoing investigation regarding a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the Woodbridge (22191) area of Prince William County in 2023. The investigation revealed the adult female victim was sexually assaulted by an acquaintance, identified as the accused. While investigating the incident, detectives learned the accused had held the victim against her will in an altercation in 2022. The victim eventually reported the incidents prompting the police investigation. Following the investigation, detectives obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Kelvin Johnson ALVARADO-AGUILAR. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.

A 60-year-old Correctional Officer was arrested yesterday on five charges.
On October 21st at approximately 10:42 a.m. deputies received information regarding a Correctional Officer at Rappahannock Regional Jail, located at 1745 Richmond Highway [in Stafford County]. The information provided was that the suspect had improper contact with a female inmate.
Due to the nature of the allegations, detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division responded. As a result of their investigation, the suspect was taken into custody without incident later that day. He was charged with three counts of sexual battery and two counts of carnal knowledge of a prisoner by a correctional officer. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $3,000 secured bond.
The suspect was identified as Chadwick Jackson of King George. The investigation is ongoing.
On October 21, officers responded to a burglary at a home near Manassas, where they found an unknown man sleeping inside. The man was charged with burglary and possession of illegal narcotics and is being held without bond.

Residential Burglary – On October 21 at 1:21PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 8000 block of Community Dr [near] Manassas (20109) to investigate a burglary. On October 21, 2024, at 2:29 p.m., the Manassas City Police Department received a 911 call stating that a person had been shot in a residence located in the 9200 block of Brinkley Lane in Manassas. Police responded and found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel also responded to the residence and pronounced him dead on the scene.
A suspect at the scene was identified as the shooter and subsequently detained by police. Investigators determined that the incident was between domestic partners who both lived at the residence. The suspect was placed in custody and transported to the Prince William County Adult Detention Center. She was charged with the following criminal offenses and held without bond.
Latoya Crabbe, 34, is charged with second-degree murder and with the use or display of a firearm in the commission of a felony. The details of the case remain limited.
According to her LinkedIn page, Crabbe has had a distinguished career in public health. In addition to her current role at the FDA, she previously served as a cadre instructor for the Officer Basic Course at the Division of Commissioned Corps Personnel and Readiness (DCCPR) in Rockville, Maryland.
The suspect has an extensive background in both pharmacy and public health. Since May 2023, she has been a Program Management Officer with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), overseeing critical health-related programs. Before her current role, she served for nearly five years as a Senior Instructional Officer with the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service, where she trained new officers in various health protocols and emergency response strategies.
From April 2015 to August 2018, she was a Clinical Staff Pharmacist with the Indian Health Service in Chinle, Arizona. There, she conducted outpatient pharmacy clinics focused on specialized patient care, including the Pharmacist Managed Anticoagulation and Immunization Clinic. She evaluated medication regimens, provided counseling on medication use and side effects, and developed treatment protocols in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
Several armed robberies occurred recently in Prince William. On October 20, a 27-year-old man was assaulted and robbed in Gainesville, resulting in injuries and property loss. The day before, a 56-year-old man was threatened with a firearm at a Motel 6, and on October 18, two 17-year-old boys were approached by three armed suspects near Woodbridge.

The investigation revealed the victim, a 56-year-old man, was assisting an unknown woman with a broken-down vehicle when he was approached by an unknown man. During the encounter, the man brandished a firearm and demanded the victim’s property before leaving the area with the woman. No injuries were reported. A phone and money were reported missing. The suspects were described as a medium build white male with a goatee and mustache and a medium build white female with long blond hair.
Armed Robbery – On October 18 at 1:58PM, officers responded to the area of Westridge Dr. near Westridge Pond Path [near] Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed the victims, both 17- year-old male juveniles, were approached by three unknown men, possibly juveniles. During the encounter, the suspects brandished firearms and demanded the victim’s property. A brief altercation ensued before the suspects took the victim’s property and left in a black sedan. Minor injuries were reported by one of the victims. A phone, clothing, a backpack and keys were reported missing. The suspects were described as black males between 15-20 years old, wearing dark-colored clothing.
