Death Investigation – On August 3 at 2:11PM, officers responded to the 17100 block of Wayside Dr. in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a death. The investigation revealed a Good Samaritan located a body inside of a vehicle parked near the above location. The body was in a decomposed state and transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy to confirm the identity and determine the cause of death. At this time, there is no threat to the community concerning the death. More information will be released as necessary. The investigation continues.

Strangulation (Domestic Related) – On August 3 at 1:28AM, officers responded to the Dale Forest Apartments located in the 14300 block of Westminister Ln. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a domestic dispute. The investigation revealed the victim, a 24-year old man, and a family member, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused grabbed the victim’s neck before the parties separated and the victim left the residence. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused,

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On August 3 at 3:08PM, officers responded to the Sheetz located at 3300 Noble Pond Way in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shots fired call. The investigation revealed shots were fired in the parking lot before a man walked away from two vehicles, a black Audi Q3 and silver Chevrolet Impala, which also quickly left the area. No injuries or property damage were reported. Shell casings and a bullet were located in the parking lot near where the vehicles were parked.

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On August 2 at 7:40AM, officers responded to the 1500 block of Cherry Hill Rd. in Dumfries (22026) to investigate found property. The investigation revealed the caller located several shell casings in the parking lot of the above area. No reports of gunfire were made prior to officers responding to the area. No injuries or property damage were reported.

Indecent Exposure – On August 3 at 11:35PM, officers on a concert detail at Jiffy Lube Live located at 7800 Cellar Door Dr. in Bristow (20136) were alerted to an indecent exposure incident. The investigation revealed earlier that evening, a 56-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man were in their seats when an unknown man exposed himself and began urinating on the seats. Neither victim had contact with the suspect before leaving the area.

A white male, in his 60’s, approximately 6’0”, 275lbs., with large belly, and grey hair Last seen wearing a grey shirt and grey pants
Vandalism – On August 2 at 10:34AM, officers responded to Veterans Park located at 14300 Veterans Dr. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a vandalism. The investigation revealed vulgar language and pictures were spray painted on a pole in the park. The drawings did not appear to contain any threat. No additional markings in the area have been reported.

Armed Robbery – On August 2 at 10:02AM, officers responded to WalMart located at 8386 Sudley Rd. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed an employee observed an unknown man, later identified as the accused, behind the store with suspected unpaid items. When other employees attempted to confront the accused, he brandished a knife before taking a scooter and leaving the area. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Neill McKay ROSS III, who was located and arrested on August 3.

Felony Child Neglect – On August 3 at 11:24AM, officers responded to Richmond Hwy. near Georgetown Rd. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a found child. The investigation revealed the victim, a 6-year-old boy, left his nearby home after being left unattended for an extended period by his mother, identified as the accused. Officers responded to the above area when a Good Samaritan located the victim running across Richmond Hwy. While investigating the incident, the accused contacted the police to report the victim missing. The child did not appear to be injured and was released to the custody of known parties. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Jemima ADUM-ATTA, was arrested.

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On August 3 at 5:01PM, officers were in the 7300 block of Sudley Rd. in Manassas (20109) when they observed a trespasser behind a local business. Upon making contact with the individual, later identified as the accused, officers determined she was intoxicated and attempted to detain her. The accused actively resisted and scratched an officer before being detained. Officers also determined the accused was in possession of suspected illegal drugs. While in custody, the accused made multiple verbal threats and spat on an officer. Minor injuries were reported by the officer. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Adia Lynn SHANAHAN, was arrested.

Indecent Exposure – On August 1 at 12:48PM, officers responded to the 13300 block of Worth Ave. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an indecent exposure. The investigation revealed the victim, a 35-year-old woman, observed an unknown man, later identified as the accused, unclothed in the above area. While investigating the incident, officers determined the accused exposed himself earlier in the day to another woman while in the same area. At no point during either incident was any physical contact made between the accused and the victims. Following the investigations, the accused, identified as Orlando Jacob BARRETT, was arrested.

Residential Burglary – On August 4 at 11:06AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 5800 block of Artemus Rd. in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a burglary in progress. While officers were investigating the incident, information was received that an individual, later identified as the accused, was outside a nearby residence. Officers made contact with the accused and determined he was involved in the initial burglary and detained him without incident. The investigation revealed forced entry was made into the home. No property was reported missing. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Morgan Reese RICCIARDI, was arrested.

The Fredericksburg City Council

Friends of the Rappahannock and the Rappahannock Group of the Sierra Club will host an educational event on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, focusing on the data center's impact on the community. The event will occur from 6 to 8 p.m. at 1201 Caroline Street in Fredericksburg.

Prince William Police Department:Strangulation | Domestic Related – On August 25 at 2:46 a.m., officers responded to investigate a domestic that was reported to have occurred at the Coverstone 4 Apartments located in the 7600 block of Cass Place in Manassas (20109) on August 24 at approximately 3:00 a.m. The investigation revealed the victim, a 19-year-old woman, and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused pushed the victim before separating. A second verbal argument later that day occurred when the accused grabbed the victim by the neck and lifted her onto the stovetop before pulling her down to the ground. The following morning the accused forcibly prevented the victim from leaving the residence before pushing her to the floor. When the victim attempted to contact the police, the accused took her phone. The victim was eventually able to leave the apartment and walked to a nearby business where police were contacted. The victim reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants for the accused, identified as Jerome COCHURAN-DANIELS Jr. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful. Wanted: [Photo from February 2023] Jerome COCHURAN-DANIELS Jr., 20, of the 7400 block of Barbados Lane in Manassas. Described as a black male, approximately 6’3, 180lbs., with black hair, brown eyes, and a tattoo onhis right arm. Wanted for 1 count of strangulation, 1 count of abduction, 3 counts of domestic assault & battery, and 1 count of preventing the summoning of law enforcement.”

Aggravated Assault – On August 26 at 12:21 a.m., officers on a concert detail at Jiffy Lube Live located at 7800 Cellar Door Drive in Bristow (20136) were alerted to a fight in the ‘C’ parking lot area. The investigation revealed the victim, a 30-year-old man, was involved in a verbal altercation with a man, after bumping into his female acquaintance. During the encounter, the man struck the victim causing both parties to fall to the ground where the suspect continued to assault the victim. The parties eventually separated, and the suspect walked away with the woman. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect could only be described as a Hispanic male.”

Attempted Strong-Arm Robbery – On August 29 at 5:45 p.m., officers began an investigation into a robbery that was reported to have occurred in the 18100 block of Kilmer Lane in Triangle (22172) on the evening of August 25. The investigation revealed the victim, a 36-year-old man, was walking near the parking lot of the above area when he was approached by an unknown man. During the encounter, a second unknown man approached the victim from behind and struck him before wrapping his arm around the victim’s neck. The initial suspect then went through the victim’s pockets before both suspects fled on foot. The victim left the area and eventually encountered police to report the incident. Minor injuries were reported, and no property was taken. Suspect Descriptions: A black male, approximately 5’5, with a skinny build, and black hair in a ponytail on top of his head. No known clothing description. A black male, approximately 6’0, bald, with a black beard. No known clothing description.”

Commercial Burglary – On August 26 at 7:58 a.m., officers responded to the Spin Cycle Laundry located at 13921 Occoquan Road in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. Video surveillance revealed at approximately 12:15 a.m., an unknown individual entered the business through the ceiling area. Once inside the business, the suspect used a power tool and a pry-bar tool in an attempt to gain entry into the ATM. The suspect then went into the manager’s office and broke open a safe. The suspect exited out an emergency exit with a shopping cart filled with laundry detergent, an undisclosed amount of money and lottery tickets. While checking the business, no signs of forced entry into the business were found. A hole was found in the bathroom ceiling of the business. The suspect was described as a white male wearing all dark-colored clothing and white Crocs.”

Maiming resulting from Driving under the Influence – On August 29, crash investigators obtained additional charges for a driver involved in a collision that occurred in the area of Prince William Pkwy. and Hoadly Road in Woodbridge (22192) at 11:15 p.m. on June 28. The investigation revealed the driver of a 2010 Mazda 3 was traveling eastbound on Prince William Parkway. when they observed a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta traveling towards them in the opposite direction. The driver of the Mazda was unable to avoid the Jetta before the vehicles collided head-on. The Jetta was redirected into the median where it came to rest and the Mazda came to rest in the eastbound lanes of travel. The driver and a passenger
in the Jetta, and a passenger in the Mazda were transported to an area hospital with serious, non-life
threatening injuries. The driver of the Mazda, identified as the accused, was uninjured and initially charged
with driving under the influence at the time of crash. On August 29, additional charges were obtained and
served against the accused, identified as Nicolas Santos MORATAYA. Arrested on August 29: [No Photo Available] Nicolas Santos MORATAYA, 22, of 13106 Queensdale Drive in Woodbridge. Charged with 2 counts of maiming while DUI and 1 count of DUI. Court Date: Pending | Bond: Released on Recognizance.”

Malicious Wounding – On August 29 at 11:24 p.m., officers began an investigation into a stabbing that was reported to have occurred at the 7-Eleven located at 14400 Gideon Drive in Woodbridge (22192) earlier that evening. The investigation revealed the victim, a 50year-old man, and an acquaintance, identified as the accused were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused stabbed the victim before the parties separated. The victim left the area and went to hospital where his injuries were determined to be non-life threatening. While investigating the incident, officers located
and detained the accused near the business without incident. The accused was also found in possession of
the knife believed to have been used in the stabbing. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as
Gunnar Walter GROVER Jr., was arrested. Arrested on August 29: [No Photo Available] Gunnar Walter GROVER Jr., 51, of 12830 Island House Loop in Woodbridge. Charged with malicious Wounding. Court Date: Pending | Bond: Unavailable.”

Sexual Assault Investigation – On August 29, detectives concluded an investigation into a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the Manassas (20109) area of Prince Willliam County between July and August 2023. The investigation revealed, the victim, who was under the age of 18 during the above timeframe, was being cared for by the accused when he inappropriately touched her on more than one occasion. The victim recently reported the incident to a family member who contacted the police. On August 29, following the investigation, the accused, identified as Hugo Aquiles LOPEZ FUENTES, was arrested. Arrested on August 29: Hugo Aquiles LOPEZ FUENTES, 49, of 7622 Quail Run Lane in Manassas. Charged with 2 counts of indecent liberties by a custodian, 1 count of aggravated sexual battery, and 1 count of sexual battery. Court Date: Pending | Bond: Held WITHOUT Bond.”

Sexual Assault Investigation – On August 26 at 10:01 p.m., officers on a concert detail at Jiffy Lube Live located at 7800 Cellar Door Drive in Bristow (20136) were alerted to a sexual assault at a beverage stand in the lawn area. The investigation revealed the victim, a 22- year-old woman, was grabbed and inappropriately touched by an unknown man, later identified as the accused. The victim alerted a nearby acquaintance who intervened, and the accused walked away. While investigating the incident, officers located the accused in the parking lot area where he was detained without incident. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Ryan Michael MINNICK, was arrested. Arrested on August 27: Ryan Michael MINNICK, 28, of 1349 Redman Stone Road in Luray. Charged with sexual battery. Court Date: September 8, 2023 | Bond: Unavailable.”

Prince William police: “Felony Hit & Run Crash Investigation – On July 26 at 10:45 p.m, crash investigators responded to Jiffy Lube Live located at 7800 Cellar Door Dr in Bristow (20136) to investigate a hit & run crash that occurred in the parking lot.”

“The investigation revealed the victim, a 23-year-old woman, was leaving the concert and running through parking lot “F6” to her vehicle when she was struck by a white sedan. The victim was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.”

“The striking vehicle left the scene and was not located. No other information is currently known about the striking vehicle or its driver. Crash investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact police.”
