ALCOHOL OFFENSE:
AG Wright Middle School, 100 Wood Drive, 10/30, 12:54 p.m. Double, double toil and trouble, Deputy S.C. Hall responded to a student in trouble. It was discovered a student brought in an elixir stronger than witches brew. The alcohol was seized and a criminal complaint for possession of alcohol on school grounds was submitted. Luckily, the student wasn’t ex-spelled.ASSAULT:
Maple Drive, 10/30, 8:17 p.m. Deputy S. Waheed responded to a monstrous offense. A witness heard a commotion outside, but it was not trick-or-treaters. He would observe a female being assaulted by a male. Contact was made with the victim and it was discovered the suspect was her boo. She was provided resources for Empowerhouse while a warrant for assault and battery was submitted for the suspect.HIT AND RUN:
Area of Butler Road and Cambridge Street, 10/30, 8:11 a.m. Deputy R.A. Weatherholtz responded to a spooky situation. The victim was traveling in the area when another vehicle merged into them. The suspect vehicle would quickly vanish like a ghost. Area of Courthouse Road and Austin Ridge Drive, 10/30, 8:28 a.m. Deputy A.E. Epps responded to a grave problem. The victim was traveling in the area when another vehicle merged into them. The suspect vehicle would then take the Highway to Hell, also known as I-95. This mystery machine was described as a silver Toyota Tacoma.LARCENY:
Franklin Street, 10/30, 10:37 a.m. Deputy F.C. O’Neill responded to a nightmare on Franklin Street. The victim was squashed to discover his Cash App card was stolen. The unknown boogeyman would then fraudulently use the card at nearby wicked businesses. Target, 1090 Stafford Market Place, 10/30, 11:58 a.m. We’re sure you’re dead tired reading larcenies at Stafford Market Place, but we’re bringing one more back from the grave. Deputy C.D. Sullivan made contact with staff who stopped a female suspect stealing over $180 worth of items. It was discovered this dead-icated suspect had shoplifted from the business on two other occasions. The suspect, feeling a bit rotten, was charged with three counts of larceny. She was released by the magistrate on personal recognizance.
The Workhouse Haunt returns for its 11th season, featuring the theme “Twisted Tales of Terror” with a creepy outdoor trail and live-action scenes of classic fairy tales gone wrong. Running from October 4 to November 2, the event includes Halloween-themed entertainment, food, and drinks, with tickets starting at $25 per person and special sensory-friendly trail times on October 20.

Get into the spooky spirit of Halloween at the Workhouse Haunt! Back for its 11th season, one of Northern Virginia’s most popular Halloween events is bringing even more scares (and laughter) to its creepy outdoor walk-through trail. The Haunt will lead guests on a frightening journey that brings them along the abandoned, historic buildings of the former prison, where they will encounter terrifying characters and sights and sounds that are not for the faint of heart. This year’s event, Haunt: Twisted Tales of Terror will run on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from Oct. 4 through Nov. 2 and Thursday, Oct. 31, Halloween night. This year’s theme, Twisted Tales of Terror, features more than a dozen creepy live-action scenes portraying classic fairy tales gone wrong, including Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, Pinocchio and more. To keep everything moving along, guests will travel in small groups via a timed entry. While waiting for their timeslots, or following their trail experience, guests can enjoy Halloween fun in the Rizer Pavilion: DJ-mixed music (Fridays, Saturdays, and Halloween Night); refreshments at the bar, including Halloween-themed alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks; sweet and savory food truck treats; and Halloween art and trinkets in the Haunt Pop-up Shop.
“The Workhouse Haunt is a Northern Virginia favorite,” said Joseph Wallen, Director of Performing Arts/Keith Gordon, President and CEO. “It’s not only Halloween entertainment, but also as an extension of the Workhouse Performing Arts program, allowing the local community, youth and adults, to practice their acting skills, set production and overall theatrical skills with the training of seasoned professionals. This year we have nearly 100 paid and volunteer participants.”

The Haunt is generally not recommended for children under 13 years old; however, special designated sensory friendly trail times are available on Sunday, October 20 for families that would like to experience the trail without strobe lighting, overall lower volume levels of sounds, and scares that are not as intense. The Workhouse Arts Center fall theater season kicks off with the production of Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors. During the month of October, guests can purchase a combo ticket that includes Dracula and the Haunt trail on the same night. See th website for specific dates and times.

The Workhouse Arts Center is thrilled to announce the return of a Northern Virginia Halloween season favorite, the Workhouse Haunt, an immersive outdoor haunted trail.
This year’s haunt, “Nightmare Harvest,” will run on weekends from Saturday, October 1, through Saturday, November 5, 2022. Friday and Saturday hours are from 7 to 11 p.m., and Sunday hours are from 7 to 10 p.m.
The haunt will also perform on Halloween night, Monday, Oct. 31, from 7 to 9 p.m. Each Friday and Saturday night from October 7 through October 29, live bands will perform in the Rizer Pavilion near the Haunt Bar, where guests can purchase snacks and beverages. Tickets are now available for purchase, and prices start at $30 per person.

Tickets are sold online only via timed entry, and advance purchase is highly recommended to reserve a time slot.
“This year, we will continue our Preview Night, on October 1, to honor our first responders, veterans, active military, teachers, and health-care workers by offering them free admission on that evening,” says Leon Scioscia, President, and CEO of the Workhouse Arts Center. “Additionally, this year, we have partnered with the Lorton Community Action Center to encourage guests to give back to the community by donating food and other items when they attend the Haunt. We will have a drop off location available on site.”

From Oct. 7 through Oct. 29, Friday and Saturday evenings will include a rotating schedule of live music in the Rizer Pavilion, which also serves as a check-in area and “virtual line” for Haunt entry.
Food trucks, soft drinks, wine, and themed-specialty drinks will be available for purchase on site. Bunnyman Brewing will be the exclusive beer vendor for the Haunt. And will feature selections of microbrew favorites from their unique draft beer truck. As October 1 is Preview Night, food and beverage service will not be available.
