For the second straight night, FredNat pitching held the Lynchburg Hillcats to just one run, and the FredNats won their 10th game in the last 11 with a 4-1 victory on a Firework Friday night. Jacob Young hit a leadoff home run for his first career professional homer, and Andry Lara earned his first home win of the season.

The FredNats' season-long winning streak of eight games ended on Wednesday night at Virginia Credit Union Stadium by a final of 5-1 at the hands of the Lynchburg Hillcats.

Steven Williams hit a solo home run for the FredNats' only run, but Fredericksburg was only able to muster three hits in the loss.

The Fredericksburg Nationals continued to roll against Delmarva Wednesday at Virginia Credit Union Stadium, running away from the Shorebirds 15-4.

Branden Boissiere led the offensive explosion with four RBIs, including three on a bases loaded double in the third vs. Delmarva starter Conor Grady (3-5). He also scored twice. Jacob Young enjoyed a four hit night that included two runs scored and two RBIs. He came up just a home run shy of the cycle.

Rutledge ran into a bit of trouble in the 2nd inning when Delmarva put runners on the corner with one out, but the sinkerballer righty induced an inning-ending double play, and it was smooth sailing after that. Rutledge retired the final 11 men in a row, and has a scoreless streak of 13 innings and counting at home.

The Fredericksburg Nationals came back in dramatic fashion to split the six-game series in Salem Sunday. The FredNats fell behind 4-0 in the first but rallied to leave with a 7-6 win.

Viandel Pena led the furious comeback effort with three hits and four RBIs, including a game-tying single in the sixth and a go-ahead two-RBI triple in the eighth. Sammy Infante went deep for the 13th time this season. He also picked up his 13th double.
