On October 31, officers responded to a robbery investigation near Manassas involving a victim who arranged to sell his vehicle through Facebook Marketplace. The suspect brandished a firearm, demanded the victim’s phone, and drove off with the vehicle, but later returned it before fleeing on foot; all property was recovered.

Carjacking – On October 31 at 8:16PM, officers responded to the 12800 block of Galveston Ct [near] Manassas (20112) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed the victim, a 44-year-old man, arranged to sell his vehicle to unknown party over Facebook Marketplace. The victim met with the other man in the above area to test drive the vehicle. While both men were in the vehicle, the suspect brandished a firearm and demanded the victim’s phone before telling the victim to exit the vehicle. The suspect then drove off in the victim’s vehicle. No injuries were reported. The victim went to a nearby business to contact police. Before officers arrived on scene, the suspect returned the vehicle and left on foot. All property was recovered. A police K-9 searched the area for the suspect who was not located.Suspect Description: Black male, mid-20’s, 5’8” with a thin build, black hair, and unshaven face Last seen wearing a dark-colored shirt and tan pants
