Good morning Prince William – Serve our Willing Warriors is having their next volunteer orientation on Thursday May 25th 6-7 p.m. and Wednesday May 31st 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.. Uptown Alley is sponsoring a fun event for SERVE throughout the month of May. Simply gather your friends and families and go bowling at Uptown Alley. When you pay for your games and food just attach a flyer to your bill and SERVE will receive a 10% donation. It’s a super fun place to bowl and all for a good cause. Good morning Prince William – Please join us for a free family concert on Friday, May 12th, 6-10pm at Battlefield Garden Center in Catharpin. There will be food trucks, craft vendors, moon bounce and the Beer & Wine Garden that will benefit the Un-Trim-A-Tree Holiday Gift Program for needy kids. Music by Skinny Wallace! I’m pouring at the beer truck so come out for the fun.

· House of Mercy is collecting new packages of underwear, briefs, undershirts, socks and bras in any size, age, gender or color on Thursday, June 8th. Just drive through the parking lot at 8170 Flannery Court anytime 10am-5pm to help families with the basics! This event is called U is for Undies- super cute!

Good morning Prince William – spring is here so please join in all the fun special projects-

· Help a Horse Day sponsored by the Prince William County Animal Shelter invites you to their free, fun open house on Sunday April 23rd, noon to 4pm. Lots of kids activities including hobby horse races, horse bingo, scavenger hunt, art & crafts. There will also be lots of equine groups attending including the Police Department’s Mounted Patrol Unit, the Equine Rescue League, Little Fork Large Animal Rescue as well as local farms and businesses. The public dog park will be closed so please leave your pets at home for this event.

Good morning Prince William – TOPSoccer is looking for volunteers to help on Saturday mornings at the Vint Hill Gym. This program provides safe, fun and inclusive environment for children with development issues to enjoy the game of soccer. This promises to be a very fun Saturday morning. · The Retired and Senior Volunteer program has an urgent need for Meals on Wheels drivers to deliver the noon meal in both the Manassas and Woodbridge areas. It’s a super 2 hours or so while you provide a warm meal and check on their welfare. This program is for individuals age 55+, have valid driver’s license and proper insurance. Good morning Prince William – Brain Injury Services is looking for a volunteer who could teach very basic or conversational Spanish just for fun to a young lady in Ashburn. · Catholic Charities- Hogar Immigrant Services is urgently seeking teachers for various classes in Manassas. The English class is held Monday – Thursday for just one class a week. Good morning Prince William – Historic Manassas is looking for volunteers to help with the Live Well Festival on Saturday, April 22nd – 9am-2pm. Positions include morning directional to help get vendors situated from 7am-9am. Also needed is assistance with helping set up the Farm to Table Brunch from 9:30am-12:30 pm. · Prince William Conservation Alliance invites you to their Open House on Tuesday, February 28th, 5:30-7 pm with a speaker on new stormwater rules and the Chesapeake Bay. Good morning Prince William – Literacy Volunteers of America-Prince William is looking for volunteers to tutor adults who wish to improve their lives through literacy. Previous tutoring experience is not needed as their training series will give you all the skills needed to be successful. The next Tutor Training Workshop is Saturday, March 18th (8:45-4:00) with the follow-up on Saturday, April 1st (9:00-12:00). ‘

You will learn how to teach reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills to the students who are both American-born and English Language Learners.
