Press Release: “The Aquia Harbour Host Lions were out supporting the Household Hazardous Waste Day collecting all the electrical and electronic waste. 3,905lbs of electronic in addition to hundreds of cell phones, laptops, and ink cartridges, were able to be recycled by the Lions.”
“The students from Brooke Point High School Vstar were on hand to work with the Lions, disabling items while identifying multiple desktop computers and monitors that they will be able to wipe and refurbish to provide to people in our area who cannot afford a home computer.”
“Mike Shepherd from the Aquia Harbour Host Lions took over managing the Electrical and Electronic waste recycling at the [Stafford Regional Landfill] and the Belman Road Recycling Center [Fredericksburg] in June. Items can still be dropped off at both locations during normal Landfill and Recycling center hours. There are sheds for drop-off at both locations. 100% of the monies raised from the program go back out to support our community.”
Student members of the Stafford Middle School LEOs stuffed more than 400 eggs for an egg hunt held at the Thurman Brisbane Center, a homeless shelter in Fredericksburg, on Saturday, April 8, 2023.
The Aquia Evening Lions Club provided the candy and sponsored the club.
