Renovated DQ Opening Later This Month

Dale City, Va. –– When the windows at Dairy Queen in Dale City were covered and the doors locked, fans of soft-serve ice cream may have wondered what was happening at their favorite treat shop.

The restaurant has been located inside Center Plaza for more than 20 years and is now undergoing renovations.

From the looks of the new signage outside the restaurant, it will become a DQ Grill and Chill.

While no one answered a phone number posted on the door Friday, a voicemail message indicates the restaurant will reopen March 22.

The management team is accepting applications, which means more good news for those in the market for a job.

A Dairy Queen in Prince William Plaza on Smoketown Road, across from Potomac Mills mall, is also being renovated.

DQ Grill and Chill restaurants are usually between 2,100 and 2,800 square feet in space, according to the company’s website.

While we’re not sure if the menu will change, the restaurant’s interior is slated to become more modern-looking, with warmer colors.
