3 Charged as “Goon Squad” Gang Members

Stafford County, Va. –– Sheriff’s authorities are working to round up any remaining members of the “Goon Squad.”

Three men were arrested in Stafford after investigators learned they had showed up to a house party with 200 teenagers in attendance, assaulted two teens and then fired a handgun into the air at least four times, investigators said.

The men arrested have been identified through the Stafford sheriff’s office and the FBI’s Rappahannock Regional Gang Taskforce as members of the “Goon Squad,” a gang out of Spotsylvania County,” said Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.

The gang is not known to have a national affiliation and this is the first incident in Stafford that has been linked to the so-called gang.

The three men were arrested in Spotsylvania County without incident, and were familiar faces to those who work in the gang taskforces, said Kennedy.

Sheriff’s deputies were originally called to the party at 12:36 a.m. Saturday, to a home on Brandy Hills Road.

There were several teenagers who tried to leave the party as deputies showed up, but they were detained until they were cleared to leave or their parents could come pick them up, said Kennedy.

Alvin Fauntleroy, Jr., 20, of Fredericksburg, is charged with reckless handling of a firearm, brandishing a firearm, two counts of assault by mob and one count of gang participation.

Kendrick Covert, 21, of Fredericksburg, and 20-year-old Geremy Tillery, of Spotsylvania, both face assault by mob and gang participation charges, said Kennedy.

All three men have been released on Bond.

Authorities say they are looking for any remaining members who may be involved in the “Goon Squad.”
