WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal townhouse fire Thursday morning in Woodbridge as 73-year-old Narendar Kumar Jain.
The advisory is in effect from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. Thursday, April 17, covering much of central, northern, and northwest Virginia, portions of Maryland including northern and central counties, and parts of eastern West Virginia.
Temperatures are expected to dip to between 33 and 36 degrees, creating conditions favorable for frost to form. Tender vegetation, including spring flowers, garden plants, and early crops, could be harmed or killed if left unprotected.
BRISTOW, Va. — A pickup truck driver was hospitalized Tuesday morning after a collision with an Amtrak train near the Bristow Road railroad crossing, just south of Manassas.
According to Prince William County Fire and Rescue, the crash occurred at 9:21 a.m. on April 15, 2025. A southbound Amtrak train had departed Manassas Station only minutes before when it struck a privately owned pickup truck at the crossing on Bristow Road, east of Nokesville Road.
The Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office said the shooting stemmed from an attempted illegal gun sale and robbery.
Four suspects—two 16-year-olds, one 17-year-old, and 18-year-old Jeremiah Upson of Caroline County—have been charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and unlawful assembly. One of the 16-year-old suspects, who had been hospitalized with a gunshot wound, has since been released and is now being held at the Rappahannock Regional Juvenile Detention Center.
After a week marked by tragedy and intense emergency response, Riverside Center for the Performing Arts offers a night of respite to those serving on the front lines. A small plane crashed Wednesday afternoon in a residential area of Spotsylvania County, marking the third major emergency response in the region this week.

School officials announced the delayed opening late Tuesday, citing the “profound impact this incident has had on members of our school community.”
Emergency crews remained on scene late into the evening Monday after a major gas leak was reported at the QTS data center just outside the City of Manassas.
