Yellow Cab Prince William has partnered with Gata Labs and have a released a free phone app that allows residents to book cab rides with one click.
The app became live this May, and was done in response to the huge success of other ride sharing platforms like Uber and Lyft, which were taking a huge chunk of cab companies business.
“We partnered with Yellow Cab Prince William County because they’re the premier service provider in the area. We already have partners in over 100 different cities around North America. What we’re doing is trying to provide the technology and work with [cab] fleets, instead of against fleets – like Uber does. We’re trying to help these companies combat these new mobile focused competitors like Uber and Lyft,” said Gata Labs President Simon Bourgeois.

The Prince William Committee of 100 chose a new president for the organization – 20-year member James Young.
According to Young, he did not seek out the role, but was nominated by a committee for the seat.
“Our nominating processes are fairly self perpetuating. Every year, a nominations committee gets together and seeks to recommend candidates…I’ve been on the board for a long time as a district representative, and was asked to be allowed to put up my name for nomination and I thought about it for a little while, and said sure,” said Young.

Deborah Campbell, a communications specialist for the county, has provided more information on the costs associated with the solar panels project.
More in a statement from Campbell:
The County will lease the solar energy project from CGC at a first year annual cost of $245,032, increased by 2% per year. This lease amount is based upon the average amount of electricity (1815 MW-hours) to be generated and net metered to reduce the power purchased from NOVEC.  The Agreement will be for 25 years from the date of execution. At the end of the term, CGC will remove the solar energy project at its expense, or at the County’s option, sell the project to the County at fair market value. The project is to be installed within 365 days from the Agreement execution date.
