The 2nd House district encompasses eastern Prince William and portions of Stafford County.

Shaw is the Democratic candidate for the 13th district delegate seat.

According to the State Board of Election’s campaign filing reports, in this reporting cycle – which ran from April 1 to May 27 – Shaw raised $13,383 in cash and in-kind donations, and 286285_10150345315001041_3536671_oMarshall brought in $5,358.

Northern Virginia Family Services (NVFS) is undergoing a lot of change, as they announce a new CEO and take on handling operations at the Hilda M. Barg Homeless Prevention Center.

Starting July 1, Stephanie Berkowitz, a 16-year employee with NVFS will take on her new role as CEO for the organization.

“I’m excited about the transition, we’ve just got this whole foundation we get to build off of and move forward from there,” said Berkowitz.

The Greater Prince William (GPW) Little Free Libraries project has continued to move forward with the addition of a new partner, and the launch of our online map.

A new partner

Our newest partner for the initiative is the non-profit group Write by the Rails, which is based in Manassas. The group is a chapter of the Virginia Writer’s Club.

“We go out into the community and promote literacy, and to help the community become more literate by our activities within the community. We are authors – authors and writers,” said Belinda Miller, Vice President of Write by the Rails.

Railway Festival

In Downtown Manassas, there will be the 21st annual Manassas Heritage Railway Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m on Saturday. The family friendly festival will include live music performances, food and train rides.
