James Hill is a section of Brooke Road that sits near Potomac Creek.
There have been nearly 60 crashes along the winding 2-lane road in Stafford County since 1996. The majority of the crashes involved personal injuries.
One of the most infamous crashes to occur here in 1995 and injured 15-year-old Molly Gill, of Aquia Harbour. Gill was paralyzed from the accident and later died after complications from surgery.

An unidentified man cut himself with a box cutter while standing outside the Stafford County Courthouse.
A Stafford sheriff's deputy found the man at 9:57 a.m. Thursday was cutting himself. The deputy ordered the man to stop and then wrestled the man o the ground, according to a sheriff's office press release.
The 57-year-old man resisted arrest, and it took a total of four deputies to get the man handcuffed and under control, according to the sheriff's office. The man was taken to a hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening. The man is also expected to undergo a mental health evaluation.

A man’s dog fell through the ice on Aquia Creek, and he went to save it.
When he fell in, the man’s son grabbed a canoe and headed out onto the ice to try and save his father.
A Stafford County detective heard a 911 call and rushed to the area and was able to pull the man to shore. The man’s son was able to save the dog.

This time it happened along Route 17 in south Stafford, where a man walked in to a 7-Eleven at 5:22 a.m. today, displayed what the clerk thought to be a gun, and demanded cash.

Six of the eight missing goats from Stafford County were found and reunited with their owners.
An investigation found that a man from Fauquier County tried to sell the goats to a Halal meat market in Fredericksburg.

Stafford County authorities are looking for someone who stole eight goats.

On Saturday, January 16, 2016 at approximately 9:00 am, Animal Control Officers responded to Equestrian Drive in reference to the theft of 3 goats. The owner reports that 3 goats had been stolen from a shelter area to the rear of their home. Also stolen were items to include a wheel barrel and a huff trimmer.

A total of 14 new fire and rescue personnel graduated in the latest Stafford County recruit class.
The men and women trained for 26 weeks for the jobs through various courses to include EMT, firefighter, and MAYDAY training for when a firefighter is down.
Ther was also extensive physical fitness requirements for the class, said Stafford fire and rescue spokesman Mark Doyle.
The new recruits will be used to fill vacancies within the department.
