Marine Corps Marathon Organization: "The Marine Corps Marathon Organization (MCMO) announced that registration for the Turkey Trot 10K and Mile will open to the public today at noon EST on marinemarathon.com. The event will run aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico on November 18."
"The 6.2 mile event celebrates Thanksgiving, providing participants one final calorie burning exercise before kicking off the holiday week. Interested runners are encouraged to make it a family affair with the Turkey Trot Mile, perfect for any aspiring runner."

The Prince William Service Authority: “The Prince William County Service Authority releases its 2023 Water Quality Reports, which provide important information about the source and characteristics of the utility’s drinking water.”

“Each of the Service Authority’s five distribution systems – East, West, Hoadly Manor, Carter’s Grove, and Bull Run Mountain and Evergreen – has its own Water Quality Report. As noted in the reports, the Service Authority’s drinking water met all federal and state water quality requirements for the calendar year 2022, which is the most recent regulatory period.”
“Except for drinking water in the Bull Run Mountain and Evergreen communities, the drinking water distributed by the Service Authority is sourced from the Potomac River, Occoquan Reservoir, and Lake Manassas.”
“While most of the drinking water the Service Authority provides customers is treated at facilities owned and operated by Fairfax Water, many customers in the county’s western end receive some water treated at the City of Manassas Water Treatment Plant. Customers in the Bull Run Mountain and Evergreen communities receive their water from six public groundwater wells located throughout the area.”

KO Distilling: "Manassas native, Music Director for the Bret Michaels Band, and Author, Pete Evick, has teamed up with Manassas craft distiller KO Distilling to release Bare Knuckle Evick Edition Bourbon."
“This has been a deeply personal process to produce my bourbon,” said Evick. “We are bottling this bourbon at 98 proof to represent the year I signed my first record deal, and the barrels I chose from were filled during August, the month I was born. But the most important part is that the Evick Edition is produced in my hometown of Manassas, Virginia.”

Remote Area Medical: “RAM urgently needs volunteers to help provide free dental, vision and medical Remote Area Medical services to the Luray, Va. and surrounding communities on Sept. 30-Oct. 1.”
The two-day clinic is to be held at Luray High School, located at 243 Bulldog Drive, Luray. RAM is also in general need of support volunteers to set up on Sep 29, and to take down on Oct 1. Individuals do not need to work on the medical field in order to volunteer as general support.
