PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. – On July 30 and 31, Police went to two elementary schools to investigate burglaries.Â

Burglary to a School | Grand Larceny – On July 31st at 7:46AM, officers responded to Lake Ridge Elementary School located at 11970 Hedges Run Dr in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. Staff reported to police that the burglary occurred between 4:30PM on July 30th and 5:15AM on July 31st. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the school through a temporary plywood door to the building due to ongoing construction. No property was missing from the interior of the school. A construction trailer located on the property was also entered after the padlock was broken and removed. Copper tubing, total value around $1,250, was reported missing from the trailer.Â
Burglary to a School | Destruction of Property – On July 30th at 10:31PM, officers responded to River Oaks Elementary School located at 16950 McGuffey’s Trail in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. Staff reported to police that the burglary occurred between 4:30PM and 10:30PM. The investigation revealed that three windows to the school were discovered broken. The suspect(s) then made entry into the school and moved several items. A water hose was also placed inside one of the windows and turned on causing an unknown amount of damage. A police K-9 was used to search the interior of the school building. No suspects were located and no property was reported missing. Damage to the windows was estimated around $1,200.
WOODBRIDGE, Va. –Â AÂ homeowner told police that an intruder ripped a window screen and moved lawn furniture around the window at their home. According to the police report, the intruder tried to enter the house through a basement window.Â

Attempted Residential Burglary – On July 31st at 10:12AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 12300 block of New Castle Lp in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an attempted burglary. The homeowner reported to police that between 1:50AM and 9:00AM, entry was attempted into the residence through a basement level window. The investigation revealed that the screen to the window ripped and lawn furniture around the window was moved. No entry was made into the home and no property was reported missing.
WOODBRIDGE, Va. –Â On Friday, police arrested a male suspect who was supposedly involved in an assault that happened on July 9.Â

Abduction | Strangulation *ARREST – On August 1st, officers located and arrested the suspect involved in the assault which was reported to have occurred in the 14600 block of Potomac Mills Rd in Woodbridge on July 9th. The accused was located in a wooded area behind the Potomac Festival Shopping Center and was arrested without incident.

Abduction | Strangulation [Previously Released] – On July 9th at 4:03AM, officers responded to the 14600 block of Potomac Mills Rd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 30 year old woman of no fixed address, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a physical altercation. During the encounter, the accused choked the victim and prevented her from leaving to get help. The victim took her phone and attempted to contact police, at which point, the accused took the phone and broke it. The accused fled prior to police arriving in the area. Minor injuries were reported.

Residential Burglary – On July 30th at 6:13PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 11100 block of Lonesome Rd in Nokesville (20181) to investigate a burglary. The property owner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 7:30AM on July 29th and 6:00PM on July 30th. The investigation revealed that entry was made into a cottage on the property. There were no signs of forced entry into the dwelling. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured door. A handgun and gaming console, total value around $1,200, were reported missing. The cottage was not occupied at the time of the offense.
Residential Burglary – On July 30th at 1:59PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 8100 block of Counselor Rd in Manassas (20112) to investigate a burglary. The property owner reported to police that the burglary occurred between an unknown time on April 1st and 1:59PM on July 30th. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the home. Entry is believed to have been made into the residence through a window. No property was reported missing.
Attempted Residential Burglary – On July 30th at 9:08AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 3600 block of Serendipity Rd in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary in progress. The homeowner reported to police that someone was attempting to kick open their basement level door. The suspects fled the area prior to officers arriving in the area. No entry was made into the home and no property was reported missing. A caller reported to police that three suspicious men, possibly juveniles, were seen in the area prior to the burglary call. A police K-9 and helicopter assistance were used to search for the suspects who are believed to have run to a nearby vehicle and fled the area.

STAFFORD, Va –Â Around 11 p.m. on July 30, a man was shot in the hand and robbed and was later hospitalized at Stafford Hospital Center.
Stafford sheriff spokesman Bill Kennedy said that an unknown male dropped the victim off at the hospital and left soon after. The victim told authorities that he went to meet friends in the 1100 block of Providence Street, said Kennedy. Afterward the victim was walking to visit a relative in the 1500 block of Providence Street when two men robbed him, one of whom had a hand gun, said Kennedy.
Authorities are searching for two black men, one of whom was darker skinned who pulled out a gun, walked up to the man, said nothing and started to pistol whip the victim and stole the victim’s watch, said Kennedy. Kennedy then said that during the incident the pistol went off and victim was shot in his left hand. The victim said the lighter skinned male did not participate and wore a white t-shirt, said Kennedy.
Kennedy said the men left in an older model, gray-colored Jeep Cherokee and were described as similar height, 170 – 180 pounds, low cut hair and facial hair on the darker skinned male. The victim did not know why he was approached and then robbed, said Kennedy.
WOODBRIDGE, Va. – On Sunday, a 38-year-old woman told police that following an argument, a female acquaintance struck her in the face and arm with a broken chair leg. The victim was sent to the hospital and a woman was arrested.

Malicious Wounding – On July 27th at 11:20AM, officers responded to the 14300 block of Potomac Mills Rd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 38 year old woman of Manassas, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused retrieved a broken chair leg and struck the victim in the face and arm. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

MANASSAS, Va. –Â On Monday a 58-year-old man said that someone entered his home and stole a video game system and accessories. The intruder entered through a back door according to the police report.

Residential Burglary – On July 28th at 7:59PM, police responded to the 7000 block of Gray Fox Trail in Manassas (20112) regarding a residential burglary. The victim, a 58 year old male, reported that between 8AM and 7PM someone had entered his residence and took a video game system and accessories valued at $290.00. Entry was made through a back door. The case remains under investigation.
WOODBRIDGE, Va. –Â Tuesday night, police spoke with a woman who said that after a verbal fight with a male friend, the man assaulted her and started to choke her. The woman was sent to the hospital and the man was arrested.

Malicious Wounding | Strangulation | Domestic Related – On July 29th at 10:38PM, officers responded to the 2900 block of Fox Lair Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic incident. A caller reported to police that a woman was heard screaming from one of the apartments in the above area. Officers arrived and continued to hear screaming. After officers attempted to get someone to answer the door, they forced entry into the residence. Once inside, officers separated and identified the parties involved. The victim, a 22 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused assault the victim and, at one point, began to choke her. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

MANASSAS, Va. –Â Late Sunday, a 52-year-old man was hospitalized after he was struck in the face by two teenage males at a Giant Food store. The suspects then fled on foot.

At approximately 11:23PM on July 27, 2014 Manassas City Police responded to Giant Food, located at 10100 Dumfries Rd, for a robbery. The victim, a 52-year-old male of Manassas, told officers that just moments before their arrival he was sitting outside of the grocery store when two black male suspects in their late teens approached him from behind and struck him several times in the face and head. No confrontation took place prior to the assault.Â
After the two suspects fled on foot towards the intersection of Wellington Rd and Hampton Rd, the victim noticed that his wallet containing the victim’s personal and financial cards was missing. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the incident.
