WOODBRIDGE, Va. – On August 7, a man was arrested for leaving two young children in a car at a Walmart parking lot. According to the report, the children were unharmed. 

Here’s the latest from Prince William police:

Cruelty or Injuries to Children – On August 7th at 6:49PM, police responded to the Wal-Mart located at 14000 Worth Ave in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a child neglect call. The caller reported to police that they had located two children that were unsupervised in a vehicle parked in the parking lot. Officers arrived and located the vehicle and the children, identified as an 8 year old boy and a 3 year old girl. The investigation revealed that the children were in the vehicle unsupervised for approximately 40 minutes before a guardian, identified as the accused, exited the store and approached officers. Both children were unharmed. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Milton Javier ROCHA-ENCINAS, 38, of 13140 Hillendale Dr in Woodbridge

Charged with 2 counts of cruelty or injuries to children

Court date: pending | Bond: $3,000 unsecured

LAKE RIDGE, Va. – On August 6, a 22-year-old man was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries after being struck with a handgun that went off after an argument with two male friends. According to the report, the friends left before police could arrive and took the victim’s firearm.

Armed Robbery | Malicious Wounding – On August 6th at 9:16PM, officers responded to the 3900 block of Penshurst Ln in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 22 year old man of Dumfries, reported to police that two known male acquaintances confronted him in the above area over a previous encounter. A verbal altercation ensued which escalated between the three men. During the struggle, one of the suspects struck the victim with a handgun causing the firearm to discharge.

The suspects fled prior to officers arriving in the area. Before fleeing, the suspects took a firearm belonging to the victim. No injuries or property damage were reported as a result of the gunshot. The victim did sustained non-life threatening injuries from the physical altercation. This incident was not random.

DALE CITY, Va. – On August 6, a 21-year-old woman was hospitalized after being assaulted multiple times and struck in the face and torso by a male friend after an argument. According to the report, the male friend left the scene but police were able to issue a warrant against him.

Malicious Wounding | Abduction – On August 6th at 8:18PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 14700 block of Endsley Turn in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 21 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused repeatedly assaulted the victim, striking her to the face and torso. The accused also took the victim’s phone and prevented her from contacting police or physically leaving the residence. The victim was eventually able to contact police and the accused fled the residence prior to officers arriving in the area. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants against the accused.

LAKE RIDGE , Va. – On August 6, a man tried to rob a Bank of America after threatening that he had a bomb in his backpack. According to the report, the man left before police could arrive to the scene. 

Here’s the latest from Prince William police;

Attempted Bank Robbery – On August 6th at 10:10AM, officers responded to the Bank of America located at 1708 Old Bridge Rd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an attempted robbery. Employees reported to police that an unknown man on a black or dark colored BMX or mountain style bicycle approached one of the drive-up teller speakers and demanded money. The suspect indicated to one of the employees that he had a bomb in his backpack. No money was taken and the suspect fled prior to police arriving in the area. No injuries were reported.

Suspect Description:

White or light skinned male, early to mid-20’s, 5’10”-6’, 150lbs with a thin build

Last seen wearing all black or dark colored clothing included a hat, aviator style glasses, and bandana

TRIANGLE, Va. – On August 4, a 29-year-old woman told police that a male friend kept her from leaving after an argument. She was hospitalized for non-life threatening injuries. Police have issued an arrest warrant against the male friend.

Abduction | Domestic Assault & Battery – On August 4th at 1:07PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 18100 block of Kilmer Ln in Triangle (22172) to investigate a domestic assault. The victim, a 29 year old woman of Triangle, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim and prevented her from leaving the residence. A neighbor heard the altercation and separated the two parties. The accused left the residence prior to police arriving in the area. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants against the accused.

LAKE RIDGE, Va. – On Sunday, a homeowner told police that someone stole two safes that had jewelry and other various items inside of them. According to the police report, entry was made through a back window. 

Here’s the latest from Prince William police:

Residential Burglary – On August 3rd at 10:10PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 11800 block of Bacon Race Rd to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 2:20PM on August 1st and 9:30PM on August 3rd. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the home. Entry is believed to have been made into the home through a rear window. Two safes containing jewelry and other miscellaneous property were reported missing.

WODBRIDGE, Va. – On July 29, a homeowner told police that an intruder stole a laptop and other various items from the home. According to the police report, there was no forced entry.

Residential Burglary – On July 29th at 8:23PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 1900 block of Partree Ct in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 7:00AM and 5:00PM. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the home. A laptop and other miscellaneous property, total value around $2,800, were reported missing.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. – On Saturday, Penny’s Auto Parts and Salvage employees told police that $3,500 worth of various items were stolen from the store.

Commercial Burglary – On August 2nd at 10:04AM, officers responded to Penny’s Auto Parts and Salvage located at 13304 Telegraph Rd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. Employees reported to police that the burglary occurred between 10:00PM on August 1st and 8:30AM on August 2nd. The investigation revealed that entry was made in a warehouse on the property through a bay door which was forced open. Copper wire, tire rims, miscellaneous tools and other property, total value around $3,500, were reported missing.

DALE CITY, Va. – On August 4, police arrested a man for fraud and assaulting an officer. According to the report, two sets of sliding glass doors were damaged during the incident. 

Here’s the latest from Prince William police:

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On August 4th at 1:39PM, officers responded to the Best Buy located at 2735 Prince William Pkwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a fraud case. Employees reported to police that a customer, later identified as the accused, was attempting to open an account using fraudulent identification. Officers arrived at the located and made contact with the accused. During the encounter, the accused attempted to flee the business on foot and, at one point, pushed one of the officers and continued out of the front doors. The accused was eventually apprehended with further incident. No injuries were reported. In the process of fleeing the business, two sets of sliding glass doors were damaged. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Charged with assault & battery on a LEO, destruction of property, possession of false identification, providing false identification to law enforcement, obtaining goods by false pretenses and resisting arrest
