DALE CITY, Va. –Â On September 7, police say that while a 7-year-old girl was playing in the front yard, an unknown suspicious man approached her and touched her arm. According to the report, the victim gave few details of the man and police searched the nearby area but could not find him.Â

Suspicious Incident/Person – On September 7th at 4:52PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 14700 block of Dodson Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a suspicious person. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 7 year old girl of Woodbridge, reported to her family that she was in the front yard of the residence when an unknown man approached her on foot.
During the encounter, the man touched the girl’s arm. The victim screamed and ran to the rear of the residence where other family members were located. The victim did not know the man; however, did note that he smelled of alcohol. No injuries were reported by the victim. The man was last seen walking towards Cloverdale Rd. Officers conducted an extensive check of the area and did not locate the man.

Male, between 18 & 30 years of age, with a thin build, dark complexion, shaved head and clean shaven face

TRIANGLE, Va. –Â On September 3, a homeowner told police that while at home, he heard someone ring the door bell repeatedly and later banging on the basement door. According to the report, while the homeowner checked the home, he heard someone coming up the basement stairs until the suspect left the home on foot.Â

Residential Burglary – On September 3rd at 11:13AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 3700 block of Fidelis Ct in Triangle (22172) to investigate a burglary in progress. The homeowner reported to police that he was inside the residence when he heard someone repeatedly ring his doorbell followed a short time later by loud banging on a basement level door. Upon checking the residence, the homeowner heard someone coming up the stairs from the basement. The suspect immediately fled the home on foot. No property was reported missing. A police K-9 and helicopter were used to search for the suspect.

DALE CITY, Va. –Â On September 3, a 39-year-old woman told police that she was assaulted and then choked by the male suspect after an argument. According to the report, the victim got away from the home and contacted police. Police then arrested the suspect who stayed at the home.Â

Strangulation | Domestic Assault & Battery – On September 3rd at 6:34PM , officers responded to a residence located in the 4700 block of Koester Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a domestic assault. The victim, a 39 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim and, at one point, began to choke her. Minor injuries were reported. The victim was able to get away from the accused and contact police. The accused remained at home and was detained without further incident. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. –Â On September 3, a 30-year-old man told police that after calling his friend to help him get gas, the friend and two other men came to the home armed with weapons. After stealing the victim’s safe, the men left the scene on foot.Â

Armed Robbery – On September 3rd at 2:47AM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 1300 block of Bayside Ave in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 30 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he called a known acquaintance to his residence to help him get gas. When the known acquaintance arrived at the residence, two additional masked suspects forcibly entered the home. One of suspects displayed a machete while another displayed a bat. The known acquaintance also displayed a weapon, believed to be a handgun. All three suspects took a safe belonging to the victim before fleeing the residence on foot. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspects.  This incident was not random.

DALE CITY, Va. –Â On August 31, while being issued papers, a male suspect was arrested after striking an officer and trying to leave the scene on foot.Â

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On August 31st at 11:16AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 14600 block of Cloyd Way in Woodbridge (22193) to serve paperwork on the accused. During the encounter, officers attempted to detain the accused who actively resisted. While being placed in a police cruiser, the accused struck an officer and attempted to flee on foot. The accused was quickly detained without further incident. No injuries were reported.

LAKE RIDGE, Va. –Â On September 2, officers went to investigate a fight and upon arrival, discovered and identified the suspect, who was drunk. As police were trying to arrest her, the female suspect resisted by kicking an officer in the leg several times and she damaged a part of a police car while she kicked.Â

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On September 2nd at 12:11AM, officers responded to the area of Springwoods Dr and Chaucer Ln in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a domestic incident. During the encounter, officers located one of the parties involved and identified her as the accused. Officers further determined that the accused was intoxicated. Officers attempted to detain the accused who actively resisted. At one point, the accused kicked an officer multiple times in the leg. Once at a police cruiser, the accused continued to kick, striking the cruiser and damaging the rear quarter panel. Following a brief struggle, the accused was detained without further incident. No injuries were reported.

DALE CITY, Va. –Â On August 31, officers arrested a man who picked up and tried to walk away with a 2-year-old girl. The girl’s older brother was able to get her away from the man and once police were contacted and arrived at the scene, police discovered that the man was drunk.

Attempted Abduction – On August 31st at 6:41PM, officers responded to the 1400 block of Geraldine Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an attempted abduction. The investigation revealed that the accused approached a group of children playing in the above area. During the encounter, the accused picked up on of the children, a 2 year old girl, and attempted to walk away. The victim’s older brother approached the accused and was able to get the victim away from the man. A witness followed the accused and contacted police. Officers detained the accused on Golden Ct and determined he was intoxicated. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

LAKE RIDGE, Va. –Â On August 28, a homeowner told police that they saw an unknown man walking up their stairs after hearing a noise from a sliding glass door. According to the report, the man left the home before police arrived but no forced entry was made and nothing was stolen.

The homeowner immediately called police and the suspect fled. No property was reported missing. There were no signs of forced entry into the home. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect.
