Gordon Briscoe Lee, age 93, formerly of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away at his home in Manassas, Virginia on April 11, 2017.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Eleanor Lee; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert G. and Brenda Lee of Chester Gap, VA; a daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Thomas Davies of Dumfries, VA; 6 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Lee was born on February 14, 1924 in Mitchells, Virginia and raised in Fauquier County. He graduated from Calverton High School and Manassas Technical School. He served in the US Army in the Pacific Theatre during World War II, including the battles of New Guinea, Bismarck, Luzon, and Liberation of South Philippines.
He and his wife Eleanor lived in Manassas for forty years, before retiring as an electrical maintenance engineer from St. Benedictine Convent in Bristow, Virginia.
The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, Virginia. A funeral service will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will immediately follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens in Manassas, Virginia.
The family requests that any memorial donations be made to Front Royal United Methodist Church, 1 West Main Street, Front Royal, Virginia 22630.
