Woodbridge man killed in crash

LAKE RIDGE, Va.—A Woodbridge man was killed in a car crash Monday.

Rescue crews were called to the area of Rolling Brook Drive and Tumbling Brook Lane in Lake Ridge about 9:45 p.m. The driver of a 2007 Chevrolet van was traveling north on Rolling Brooke Drive when it crossed a double yellow line, swerved out of control and struck a curb and several trees before landing on its side.

The driver, 37-year-old Luis Alfredo Cortez, of the 1900 block of Blair Rose Lane, was pronounced dead at the scene, said Prince William County police spokesman Jonathan Perok.

Police said the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
