Investigators don’t know why the driver of a Toyota Camry lost control of his car and fatally collided with a school bus Tuesday.
The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Stephen Agyin, 28, of Woodbridge. He was the only occupant in the car when it was traveling south on Minnieville Road in the area of Dumfries Road (Va. 234), ran off the right side of the two-lane road, overcorrected and crossed paths with a Prince William County school bus traveling in the opposite direction.
The collision caused the bus to hit a tree, and the driver, a 45-year-old woman from Manassas, was taken to a hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life threatening.
Agyin died on the scene.
A police investigation into what caused the crash has only determined that alcohol was not a factor, but Camry was traveling faster than the posted 45 mph speed limit for the road, said Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok.

Prince William County, Va. –– The driver of a sedan has died after becoming involved in a crash with a school bus.
Rescue crews were called about 2 p.m. to the area of Dumfries (Va. 234) and Minnieville roads where they found a school bus had run off the two-lane Minnieville Road and into some trees. In the center of the road was a smashed sedan.
There were no children on the school bus, and the driver of the bus was taken to a hospital, said Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok.
The unidentified driver died on the scene and was the only occupant of the car.
The crash remains under investigation.
It happened while two nearby schools, C.D. Hylton and Forest Park high schools were dismissing classes for the day.
Police closed Minnieville Road between Spriggs Road and Va. 234 during the initial portion of the crash investigation, backing up traffic leaving the schools which sit three and a half miles apart from each other.
