Victim attacked with glass bottle and knife

A Dumfries woman is charged with robbery, attempted malicious wounding, and destruction of property. 
 
According to police, the accused and victim were involved in an argument which escalated into the accused attempting to stab the victim with a knife. The victim’s cell phone was thrown against a wall during this encounter. According to police, while attempting to leave the scene, the victim was attacked with a glass bottle by the accused.

Armed Robbery | Attempted Malicious Wounding – On May 3 at 11:16AM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 1900 block of Briar Rose Ln in Dumfries (22026) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 43 year old woman of Dumfries, reported to police that she and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused displayed a knife and attempted to stab the victim. At some point, the accused grabbed a cell phone from the victim and threw it against a wall damaging it. When the victim attempted to walk away, the accused put the knife away then grabbed a glass bottle and attempted to strike the victim. The accused eventually left the area and the victim contacted police. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, accused was located and arrested without incident.
