If you’re like most people in Northern Virginia, you welcome Spring in all its glory with child-like exhilaration after being held hostage for months by the buzzkill of winter.
With all that inside time probably spent binge watching your Netflix queue and figuring out how to get a drone to deliver Chipotle during a snowstorm, we here at the Manassas Park Economic Development Office would like to offer some liberation.
With Spring in full swing, we are introducing our Farm Fresh Fridays farmer’s market beginning on April 29th from 3-7 p.m. in the City Hall parking lot, a location that is sure to be hopping due to its proximity to the VRE, the City Center residential development, and busy Manassas Drive.
Local farms, food vendors and food trucks, crafters and others will be showcasing fresh veggies, meats, eggs, breads, desserts, handcrafted soaps, dips, sauces, delicious food and more. Kids activities will include live animals on site, FREE face painting and a bounce house that is certain to burn off some of that youthful energy and wipe them out before bedtime.
The Manassas Park Economic Development Office is seeking to fill a void left by previous farmer’s markets in the City. According to City officials, previous markets were greatly enjoyed by residents and visitors to Manassas Park and that interest has fueled the push to resurrect a family friendly event and create a buzz in the City Center area.
Future plans involve growing the market’s vendor offering and adding more activities, so if you are a farmer, crafter, artist, performer of any type, or own a business you feel might fit within the vibe of our market, please contact Economic Development Manager Ryan Gandy at 703-930-5709 or by email at [email protected] for more information. It starts in the Park and we want you involved!
