Prince William County, Va. –– A Dale City man was killed in a motorcycle crash Saturday on Joplin Road.

The victim was traveling on the two-lane road between Triangle and Independent Hill when he lost control of his bike and hit a tree about 2:53 p.m., said Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok.

The victim is identified as 59-year-old Elijah Alexander Byrd of the 4600 block of Kentwood Lane in Dale City.

He was taken to a local hospital following the crash and was pronounced dead.
