The Town of Occoquan will host its annual tree lighting event in Historic Occoquan on Friday, November 20, 2015, at 8:05 p.m. at Town Hall, 314 Mill Street, Occoquan, VA 22125. Each year, the Town decorates a 15-foot spruce tree located on the Town Hall grounds with holiday lights and festive ornaments and invites the public to participate in a special ceremony led by Mayor Elizabeth Quist to officially light the tree for the upcoming holiday season. Â
This year’s tree decorations were donated by local business The Polka Dot Divas, and decoration installation services were donated by Virginia Lawn Services, Inc.
The tree lighting event is held at the conclusion of the Business Guild of Occoquan’s Annual Holiday Open House from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 20, which features an evening of shopping, refreshments and an old fashioned Christmas in Historic Occoquan. In addition, the Business Guild hosts a special drawing at 8:15 p.m. where participants enter for a chance to share in over $2,000 in Occoquan gift certificates. Must be present to win.
Visit the Town of Occoquan on November 20, 2015 for an evening of holiday shopping and dining, and experience an old fashioned Christmas in Historic Occoquan, with decorated stores, streets and more. For more information on the tree lighting event, visit www.occoquanva.gov or www.HistoricOccoquan.com for information on the Occoquan Holiday Open House.
