Construction to begin on Route 1, Truslow Road in Stafford on Monday

Construction work is scheduled to begvdotlogoin on Monday, June 15 on a project to build new turn lanes at the intersection of Route 1 and Route 652 (Truslow Road)  in Stafford County.

The project is being performed by the Southgate subdivision developer as a proffered road  improvement for Stafford County.

Once completed, the intersection will include:

  • Right turn lane on southbound Route 1 for traffic turning onto Truslow Road
  • Separate right and left turn lanes on Truslow Road

Motorists may experience brief, temporary traffic pattern changes and lane closures at the intersection while work is underway through early August.

Construction will occur only on road shoulders starting June 15. No lane closures will be in place during the first two weeks of construction.

Starting on or after Monday, June 28, left turns will be prohibited for two weeks only from Truslow Road onto northbound Route 1. During the two weeks, left turns will be prohibited only from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Monday – Friday.

Access to the Falmouth Shopping Center from Truslow Road will be maintained during the project.

Due to the winter storm affecting our region and expected significant snow accumulation, Stafford County offices, facilities, courts, public schools, and both locations of the R-Board/Regional Landfill (Eskimo Hill and Belman Road) will be closed on Monday, January 6, 2025.
