Man Pulled from Fiery Crash

Stafford County, Va. –– One man was flown to Washington Hospital Center’s burn unit this afternoon after he was pulled from a burning truck.

Stafford fire and rescue crews about 1:30 p.m. Sunday were called to a crash at 179 Poplar Road in the Hartwood section of the county.

The one male passenger inside the truck collided with a tree, became trapped inside, and then the truck caught fire. Crews worked for 20 minutes to bring the fire under control and to pull the victim, who is believed to be in his 30s, from the wrecked pick up, said Stafford fire and rescue spokesman Mark Doyle.
