Failed Attempt to Thwart Robbery at Potomac Mills

WOODBRIDGE, Va. - On Oct. 1, a 16-year-old male victim told police that he was robbed of a cell phone at Potomac Mills and when the victim tried to stop it, one of the suspects hinted that he had a weapon. 

Here's the latest from Prince William police:

Armed Robbery – On October 1st at 8:49PM, officers responded to Potomac Mills Mall located at 2700 Potomac Mills Cir in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 16 year old male juvenile of Silver Spring MD, reported to police that he made arrangements via Facebook to meet with an unknown man at the mall to sell a cell phone. The victim and a friend met the man inside the mall where he was in the company of another unknown man. During the encounter, the victim handed the phone to the suspect who then began to walk away. The victim attempted to retrieve his phone back, at which point, the suspect pointed to his waistband and implied he had a weapon. No weapon was actually seen. The victim followed the suspects to the parking lot where they got into a vehicle and fled the area. No injuries were reported.
