A free community resource, the PotomacLocal.com’s calendar has even more to do now that the weather is warming up.
On Friday evening, you can celebrate the Japanese culture highlighted by the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington without leaving the Potomac Communities. Head over to the Lorton Workhouse Center for the Arts for their Cinematic Tourist Series, which begins with a 7:30 p.m. showing of “Rashomon”, a subtitiled Japanese film. The festival continues Saturday with art demonstrations, vegetarian sushi, and additional films.
Also on Saturday, the Rippon Lodge Historic Site and Prince William County Master Gardeners are presenting “What Lives in a Meadow”, a special event for children. For parents, head over to Silverbrook United Methodist Church in Lorton for a clothing swap, where you can drop off clean, outgrown childrens clothes and swap them for the sizes you need.
Sunday, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1503 in Dale City is hosting a family dance event from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday morning also marks the opening day of the Dale City Farmer’s Market, which will run each week from 8-1 through September.
