NORTH STAFFORD, Va. — Someone posing as an apartment complex maintenance worker startled a woman after she stepped out of her shower.
It happened at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at an apartment home on Minuteman Circle in North Stafford, just behind a Walmart store on Va. 610. The woman said the man was standing in her hallway.
The man left her apartment about two minutes after she saw him. He appeared to be a maintenance worker from the complex. But a call from the woman to the complex’s management office revealed that no one matching the description of the intruder worked at the apartment complex.
The uniform that the man was wearing didn’t even match those worn by hired help.
The man was described as wearing a tan button down work shirt, gray cargo shorts, tan boots, with a large key ring on his hip, black with a medium complexion, with a short afro-style haircut.
The woman called 911 to report what happened. Deputies called to the scene spoke with maintenance workers at the complex, and that’s when they learned the intruder’s uniform did not match those worn by hired hands at the apartment complex.
The front door of the home appeared to be unlocked, said Kennedy. Nothing was damaged or stolen.
