Sara M. Grant, 61, of Woodbridge, Virginia, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, March 16.
She was born to Ruth and Charles Moore on October 20, 1952, in Cleveland, Ohio. Sara graduated from Lakewood High School in 1970 and attended Miami University of Ohio and Roger Williams College in Bristol, Rhode Island. She married Peter M. Grant III on June 23, 1978 in Lakewood, Ohio. They resided in Hawaii, California, Rhode Island, Maine, and Virginia, spending almost 30 years of their lives together in Woodbridge, Virginia.
Sara was a talented watercolor artist, author of children’s stories, and worked for several years at Adler’s Art and Frame in Lorton, Virginia. She enjoyed a variety of arts and crafts to include quilting and creating intricate, decorative dream catchers. Sara dedicated her life to providing the very best for her husband, daughter, and son. She was active in her children’s schools and sports teams, loved dogs and the Westminster Kennel Club dog show, was an avid reader of fiction novels, and was her happiest when she was near water and in the sunshine.
Sara is dearly missed and survived by her husband, Peter ‘Mac’ Grant of Woodbridge, VA; sister, Susan Rashid of Seattle, WA; daughter and son-in-law, Abby and Paul Gunning of Haymarket, VA; son, Nick Grant of Woodbridge, VA; and five grandchildren, Chloe, Jake, Mikayla, Josh, and Harper.
Visitation and a Celebration of Life will be held at 2pm Saturday at Old Bridge United Methodist Church in Woodbridge, Virginia.
