STAFFORD, Va. – A singing recital, entitled, “Coffee House Recital-UnPlugged”, will be held on Saturday November 23, at 6 p.m. at the historic Rowser Building in Stafford.
Seven local amature singers who struggle with stage fright will be brave enough to perform their favorite pop, gospel or R&B song before a live audience so that they can gain more experience singing in public.
“I call them my VocalzMusic Stars!”, says the event coordinator and international singing coach, Sally B. Waller. Waller, owner of VocalzMusic, shared that this will be a free public event and that the singers are teens and young adults; a few who attend or are employed with Stafford County schools and others who are from the Lorton, Manassas, Woodbridge and Fredericksburg areas of Virginia.
The audience members, often referred to as “fans” by the event coordinator, are asked to attend and show their support by applauding for each singer to build their confidence and help them overcome their stage fright. “I want my singers to feel like a star that day!” says Waller. This fun and interactive family event will feature Q&A about singing lessons.
Admission is free and fans can bring along as many friends and family as they’d like! Children are welcomed to attend with a parent.
This event is presented by VocalzMusic and Publishing (VMP), a small local business specializing in voice lessons and audition prep. Local gospel artist and wedding singer, Natasha Rogers will be the show host that day. Interested sponsors must notify the event coordinator right away if they’d like their information to be included in the event program.

Fredericksburg Regional Transit (FXBGO!) announced that transit service, which was suspended on Tuesday due to winter weather, is expected to resume at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 8. Residents relying on public transportation are encouraged to plan accordingly and check for updates before traveling.
In addition to transit disruptions, the city’s trash collection schedule has been adjusted. Monday’s missed routes resumed today, and services will shift forward by one day for the remainder of the week. Tuesday’s trash will be collected on Wednesday, Wednesday’s on Thursday, and so on.
The City of Fredericksburg’s Public Works Department continues its efforts to clear snow and ice from roadways. Primary collector roads are reported to be in good condition, but some residential and collector roads remain compacted with snow and ice. Crews are applying plowing and chemical treatments as necessary to address these areas. As temperatures drop overnight, roads may refreeze, and drivers are urged to exercise caution when traveling.
The City also reminds property owners and occupants of their obligation to clear sidewalks adjacent to their properties. Snow and ice must be removed within 12 hours after snowfall ends, or by noon the following day if precipitation occurs overnight or on a Sunday. Sand or abrasives may be used if removal isn’t feasible. Residents and businesses are also responsible for clearing ADA access ramps to ensure safe pedestrian passage.
