Fairfax County, Va. –– One man fought back and recovered his stolen items that had been posted on Craigslist, police say.
The victim had two GPS devices stolen from his car parked in the 13000 block of Pleasant View Lane in Fairfax County on Thursday.
Afterward, he saw similar items posted for sale on Craigslist.com and arranged to meet the seller at a doughnut shop on U.S. 1 in Fairfax County.
The victim met the seller at 2 p.m. Saturday, realized the items were his, and called police who then came and made an arrest in the case.
Patrick Hayward, 20, of 5112 Celtic Drive in the Rose Hill section of Fairfax County is charged with receiveing and buying stolen goods, a Fairfax County police spokesman said.
Investigators are looking into the possibility this case could be related to other incidents of stolen goods in the area.
