Woodbridge, Va. –– Officials will hold a commuter parking town hall tonight in to update residents on the shrinking commuter parking situation in Woodbridge.

It’ll start at 7 p.m. at the Ferlazzo Government Building at U.S. 1 at and Cardinal Drive.
Supervisors Frank J. Principi and Mike May will take questions from commuters who will be forced from parking at Potomac Mills mall, which last month announced they would decrease the number of commuter parking spaces there by 75 percent starting Monday.
“This meeting will be a chance for people to ask questions and for us to update them on what we are doing to find additional parking for commuters,” said May.
There is a proposal on the table to rent spaces from the Woodbridge Baptist Church off Minnieville Road, so commuters may be able to park there and Slug or take transit to Washington and points north.
A final decision on that option has not been made.

Stafford is likelier to experience “brush fires” than quick-moving wildfires that cause widespread destruction like California’s. Brushfires can range in size from a few feet to several acres and can be precursors to a larger wildfire capable of causing significant damage. Brushfires are more common when the area experiences drought conditions, like in 2024.
Welcome to another City Council preview, this time for the Jan. 27 regular meeting. This week’s meeting will be held at the City Hall Council Chambers at 9027 Center St. The Department of Economic Development, led by Director Patrick Small, will present its fiscal year 2024 report to City Council.

The disciplinary action taken against Patriot High School Principal Michael Bishop earlier this month is the latest chapter in a turbulent tenure at the school, Insidenova.com reports.
Bishop was placed on involuntary leave, the school announced Jan. 9.
The school division did not provide further details upon request from InsideNoVa because it is a “personnel matter,” said Diana Gulotta, the school system’s director of communications.
