Prince William and Stafford counties, and the Greater Manassas area remain under a severe thunderstorm watch. The warning that had been posted is no longer in effect.
3:30 p.m. Thursday
Prince William County remains under a severe thunderstorm warning until 3:45 p.m.
The National Weather Service reports a severe storm spotted near Lois, Va. in Fauquier County headed east at 35 mph.
The warning comes as several tornado warnings are also active at this hour in the Washington, D.C area. Tornadoes could impact areas near Leesburg and King George in Virginia, and near the Patuxent Naval Air Station near Lexington Park, Md.
The same storm that spawned these latest tornado warnings in King George and Maryland also prompted severe thunderstorm warning for southeast Stafford County and the Fredericksburg area about 2 p.m.

Skies darkened over the Potomac Communities just after 9 a.m. Thursday, part of a large line of thunderstorms packing a punch all the way from Chicago to Washington, D.C.
Initial damage reports began showing up on Twitter from places like Frederick, Md. shortly before 9 a.m.
