Prince William Police Department: “Strangulation | Domestic Related – On August 25 at 2:46 a.m., officers responded to investigate a domestic that was reported to have occurred at the Coverstone 4 Apartments located in the 7600 block of Cass Place in Manassas (20109) on August 24 at approximately 3:00 a.m. The investigation revealed the victim, a 19-year-old woman, and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused pushed the victim before separating. A second verbal argument later that day occurred when the accused grabbed the victim by the neck and lifted her onto the stovetop before pulling her down to the ground. The following morning the accused forcibly prevented the victim from leaving the residence before pushing her to the floor. When the victim attempted to contact the police, the accused took her phone. The victim was eventually able to leave the apartment and walked to a nearby business where police were contacted. The victim reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants for the accused, identified as Jerome COCHURAN-DANIELS Jr. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful. Wanted: [Photo from February 2023] Jerome COCHURAN-DANIELS Jr., 20, of the 7400 block of Barbados Lane in Manassas. Described as a black male, approximately 6’3, 180lbs., with black hair, brown eyes, and a tattoo onhis right arm. Wanted for 1 count of strangulation, 1 count of abduction, 3 counts of domestic assault & battery, and 1 count of preventing the summoning of law enforcement.”
“Aggravated Assault – On August 26 at 12:21 a.m., officers on a concert detail at Jiffy Lube Live located at 7800 Cellar Door Drive in Bristow (20136) were alerted to a fight in the ‘C’ parking lot area. The investigation revealed the victim, a 30-year-old man, was involved in a verbal altercation with a man, after bumping into his female acquaintance. During the encounter, the man struck the victim causing both parties to fall to the ground where the suspect continued to assault the victim. The parties eventually separated, and the suspect walked away with the woman. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect could only be described as a Hispanic male.”
“Attempted Strong-Arm Robbery – On August 29 at 5:45 p.m., officers began an investigation into a robbery that was reported to have occurred in the 18100 block of Kilmer Lane in Triangle (22172) on the evening of August 25. The investigation revealed the victim, a 36-year-old man, was walking near the parking lot of the above area when he was approached by an unknown man. During the encounter, a second unknown man approached the victim from behind and struck him before wrapping his arm around the victim’s neck. The initial suspect then went through the victim’s pockets before both suspects fled on foot. The victim left the area and eventually encountered police to report the incident. Minor injuries were reported, and no property was taken. Suspect Descriptions: A black male, approximately 5’5, with a skinny build, and black hair in a ponytail on top of his head. No known clothing description. A black male, approximately 6’0, bald, with a black beard. No known clothing description.”
“Commercial Burglary – On August 26 at 7:58 a.m., officers responded to the Spin Cycle Laundry located at 13921 Occoquan Road in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. Video surveillance revealed at approximately 12:15 a.m., an unknown individual entered the business through the ceiling area. Once inside the business, the suspect used a power tool and a pry-bar tool in an attempt to gain entry into the ATM. The suspect then went into the manager’s office and broke open a safe. The suspect exited out an emergency exit with a shopping cart filled with laundry detergent, an undisclosed amount of money and lottery tickets. While checking the business, no signs of forced entry into the business were found. A hole was found in the bathroom ceiling of the business. The suspect was described as a white male wearing all dark-colored clothing and white Crocs.”
“Maiming resulting from Driving under the Influence – On August 29, crash investigators obtained additional charges for a driver involved in a collision that occurred in the area of Prince William Pkwy. and Hoadly Road in Woodbridge (22192) at 11:15 p.m. on June 28. The investigation revealed the driver of a 2010 Mazda 3 was traveling eastbound on Prince William Parkway. when they observed a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta traveling towards them in the opposite direction. The driver of the Mazda was unable to avoid the Jetta before the vehicles collided head-on. The Jetta was redirected into the median where it came to rest and the Mazda came to rest in the eastbound lanes of travel. The driver and a passenger
in the Jetta, and a passenger in the Mazda were transported to an area hospital with serious, non-life
threatening injuries. The driver of the Mazda, identified as the accused, was uninjured and initially charged
with driving under the influence at the time of crash. On August 29, additional charges were obtained and
served against the accused, identified as Nicolas Santos MORATAYA. Arrested on August 29: [No Photo Available] Nicolas Santos MORATAYA, 22, of 13106 Queensdale Drive in Woodbridge. Charged with 2 counts of maiming while DUI and 1 count of DUI. Court Date: Pending | Bond: Released on Recognizance.”
“Malicious Wounding – On August 29 at 11:24 p.m., officers began an investigation into a stabbing that was reported to have occurred at the 7-Eleven located at 14400 Gideon Drive in Woodbridge (22192) earlier that evening. The investigation revealed the victim, a 50year-old man, and an acquaintance, identified as the accused were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused stabbed the victim before the parties separated. The victim left the area and went to hospital where his injuries were determined to be non-life threatening. While investigating the incident, officers located
and detained the accused near the business without incident. The accused was also found in possession of
the knife believed to have been used in the stabbing. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as
Gunnar Walter GROVER Jr., was arrested. Arrested on August 29: [No Photo Available] Gunnar Walter GROVER Jr., 51, of 12830 Island House Loop in Woodbridge. Charged with malicious Wounding. Court Date: Pending | Bond: Unavailable.”
“Sexual Assault Investigation – On August 29, detectives concluded an investigation into a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the Manassas (20109) area of Prince Willliam County between July and August 2023. The investigation revealed, the victim, who was under the age of 18 during the above timeframe, was being cared for by the accused when he inappropriately touched her on more than one occasion. The victim recently reported the incident to a family member who contacted the police. On August 29, following the investigation, the accused, identified as Hugo Aquiles LOPEZ FUENTES, was arrested. Arrested on August 29: Hugo Aquiles LOPEZ FUENTES, 49, of 7622 Quail Run Lane in Manassas. Charged with 2 counts of indecent liberties by a custodian, 1 count of aggravated sexual battery, and 1 count of sexual battery. Court Date: Pending | Bond: Held WITHOUT Bond.”
“Sexual Assault Investigation – On August 26 at 10:01 p.m., officers on a concert detail at Jiffy Lube Live located at 7800 Cellar Door Drive in Bristow (20136) were alerted to a sexual assault at a beverage stand in the lawn area. The investigation revealed the victim, a 22- year-old woman, was grabbed and inappropriately touched by an unknown man, later identified as the accused. The victim alerted a nearby acquaintance who intervened, and the accused walked away. While investigating the incident, officers located the accused in the parking lot area where he was detained without incident. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Ryan Michael MINNICK, was arrested. Arrested on August 27: Ryan Michael MINNICK, 28, of 1349 Redman Stone Road in Luray. Charged with sexual battery. Court Date: September 8, 2023 | Bond: Unavailable.”
