Police pay raises | Special Report

Police officers in Prince William County are now some of the highest paid in the region. The Board of County Supervisors voted to increase police starting pay by 17%. It follows Stafford County, which hiked pay for its officers in November 2022. Counties and cities in our area and across the U.S. have struggled to find and retain new police officers since the Black Lives Matter riots of 2020.
