Councilwoman Lynn Forkell Greene gives tearful goodbye, vows to keep fighting for Manassas residents, hold the city council accountable for ‘out of control spending’

Councilwoman Lynn Forkell Greene ended a 14-month term on the Manassas City Council on Monday, December 12.

Mayor Michelle Davis Younger read a proclamation during the final city council meeting of 2o22 recognizing Forkell Greene for her time serving on the city's highest governing body. Forkell Greene completed Davis Younger's original term on the council, which voters elected Mayor in 2020.

During her time on the council, Forkell Greene championed giving personal property tax rebates, lowering taxes, increasing government transparency, preserving parks and recreational spaces, rallying for the Greater Manassas Baseball League, which will lose its home at the, E.G., Smith Baseball Complex, sold to the city's largest employer, Micron.
