I-95 widening continues this week

There are some ongoing construction projects going on in the region, and with this helpful list of road closures and anticipated delays, maybe you can avoid sitting in traffic this week.

I-95 Widening

Nighttime work – Closures occur between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. unless otherwise noted.

I-95 south from Exit 166, Fairfax County Pkwy (Va.7100) to Exit 160, Gordon Blvd. (Va. 123) – Two lanes closed Monday – Thursday nights 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for  milling, paving and striping.

Weekday work – Closures occur between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

I-95 north between the Exit 160, Gordon Blvd. (Va. 123) and one mile south of Exit 166, Fairfax County Pkwy (Va. 7100) – Right lane closed Monday – Thursday 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for bridge work.

I-95 south between Exit 166, Fairfax County Pkwy (Va. 7100) and Exit 160, Gordon Blvd. (Va. 123) – Right lane closed Monday – Thursday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for storm structure installation, sound wall work.

All closures are weather permitting.

BRAC/ Fairfax County Parkway Extension Project

Weekday work – Closures occur between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

Richmond Hwy (U.S. 1) for 2,000 feet north and south of Gunston Rd. – Single lane closed Wednesday – Friday for barrier movement and lane shift.

Rolling Rd. north or south from Fullerton Rd. to just south of Barta Rd. – Road closed through 5 a.m. Tuesday for traffic shift and lane tie-in.  Flagger onsite to direct traffic.

Fairfax County Pkwy (Route 7100) north and south from Backlick Rd. to Hoose Rd. – Single lane closed Monday – Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for road work.

Backlick Rd. from Fullerton Rd. to Boudinot Dr. – Single lane closed Monday – Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for bridge work.

All closures are weather permitting.
