Tim Cox has only been on the political scene for a short time, but he's already got the endorsement of two heavy-hitters in state and local politics in his run for the 51st District House of Delegates seat.
Ken Cuccinelli, who made an unsuccessful bid for Virginia Governor in 2013, and before that served in the Virginia Senate House Delegates, this week threw his support behind Cox.
Jeanine Lawson, the second-longest serving member of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors, also endorsed him. After the results of a firehouse primary in Manassas earlier this month, which saw the Lawson-endorsed Dr. Steve Pleickhardt, a dentist, win over his fellow Republican challenger to become nominee take on incumbent Lee Carter (D) in the adjacent 50th House District, it's clear Lawson's endorsement holds water.
