Jeff Haydon went to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving family on May 5, 2021.
James Jeffery Haydon was born December 27, 1957 in Germany where the family was stationed. He attended Robinson Secondary High School in Fairfax Virginia, where he was a member of the bowling team and the Marching Band. Jeff graduated in 1975.
Jeff served six years in the United States Air Force in Germany as a weapon technician.
When he left the Air Force he moved to Manassass Virginia where he was active in the community. He was a crew member at Old Dominion Speedway, PTA Volunteer, Sunday School Teacher at Trinity Episcopal Church and choir member at Church of Brethren.
Jeff was named “Ambassador” of the Manassass Harley Owners Group, due to his friendly, gracious, welcoming, kind personality and his love of riding.
He loved to represent the Manassas chapter flying their flags in parades, veteran rides and cross country trips throughout the United States with his riding brothers and sisters. His other passions were photography and the Washington Redskins.
When Parkinson’s disease prevented him from riding his motorcycle he did not give up and continued to serve his community. He participated in various Parkison’s groups which included volunteering with the Special Needs Bowlers and bowled with Iron Eagles. He was also a part of the Forgetful Friend Chorus.
Jeff is survived by his wife Sharon Haydon, sister Susan Waldron, his three sons, Richard Haydon(Nea Nea), Patrick Haydon, Kevin Taylor (Kara), two daughters, Kristina Bell (Thomas) and Denise Taylor, 11 Grandchildren, Amber (Eric), Paige, Taylor, Kaitlin, Zachary, Nicholas, Stella, Lyra, Destiny, Arianna, and Rex, 4 Great Grandchildren,Harmonie, Jaymi, Addison, and Carter. He is preceded in death by his parents, Colonel James Frederick Haydon and Barbara Dixon Haydon (Roberts).
Jeff’s life will be celebrated at a later date and once determined will update his family and friends. He will be inurned in Arlington Cemetery at a later date.

Stafford is likelier to experience “brush fires” than quick-moving wildfires that cause widespread destruction like California’s. Brushfires can range in size from a few feet to several acres and can be precursors to a larger wildfire capable of causing significant damage. Brushfires are more common when the area experiences drought conditions, like in 2024.
The disciplinary action taken against Patriot High School Principal Michael Bishop earlier this month is the latest chapter in a turbulent tenure at the school, Insidenova.com reports.
Bishop was placed on involuntary leave, the school announced Jan. 9.
The school division did not provide further details upon request from InsideNoVa because it is a “personnel matter,” said Diana Gulotta, the school system’s director of communications.
