Delegate Hala Ayala got the endorsement of multiple Democratic leaders in Virginia, including Gov. Ralph Northam.
Speaker of the House of Delegates Eileen Filler-Corn (D-Fairfax) and House Majority Leader Charniele Herring (D-Alexandria) joined the governor in endorsing Ayala in her run for Lt. Governor. She is currently serving her second two-year term representing the 52nd House District in Prince William County.
Ayala is in a crowded field of 12 candidates (six Democrats and six Republicans0 all vying to replace Justin Fairfax (D), who faced accusations of sexual assault in 2019 but did not resign.
