Stephen Anthony Burkhart

Stephen Anthony Burkhart passed away on Wednesday, November 18th , 2020 at the age of 64.
Born in Columbus, Ohio, he was part of a large Catholic family which would grow to include 8 children.
Steve served in the U.S. Army from age 17 for three years. He soon after moved into the power industry and stayed there for the rest of his working years. He ended his career as Operations Supervisor for the Capitol Power Plant in Washington, D.C.

Steve lived a life packed with experiences, living across the U.S. and, for a time, in Germany. He was known for his interests in science and technology – especially taken by the topics of space and physics. He loved any and every outdoor activity, from skiing to deep sea fishing, to hiking and camping. After the birth of his children, his pace of life slowed just enough to be able to dedicate himself to their upbringing and safety.

Steve is survived by his son David Burkhart, his daughter and her husband Elizabeth and Ryan Gardner, his stepmother Sally Burkhart, his sisters Mary Ann Burkhart, Michelle Vita, and Ashley Johnson, and his brother Michael Burkhart. A private funeral service for Steve will be held at Quantico National Cemetery.
